You know I don't think she looks at all like the actress she's supposed to portray but I'm glad she's on her way here anyhow. I'm not a Desperate Housewives fan. I've never even seen the show but I like this particular DH doll. She's been in my cart on Amazon for like 3 years now. No kidding. I put her in there the first time I saw her but she was like $149 then and I swore I would not click that button until she was under $50.
You know what they say about patience and virtues? Well tonight I finally snagged her. 16" Bree Desperate Housewives Doll by Madame Alexander in the white outfit which IMHO is the better of the two versions they did of this character. She just cost me about $52 shipped. There was only one. She was a closeout. Most of these DH dolls are now. But I've never once seen the Bree doll for anything less than like $110 plus shipping so I'm pretty happy right now. There's still another one on Amazon but she went immediately back up to $100+ after I bought mine. So I'm guessing I really lucked out grabbing her when I did. I can't imagine she'll stay there long. She's pretty lovely to look at and she's a redhead besides.
So-so product pic.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhops/5495813556/I was actually looking at pictures of the older Alex Ford fashion dolls on Google trying to figure out what sculpt they used for her and I think she's the Suzette sculpt. For a long time they apparently tended to use the same sculpts over and over for anything 16" at MA. The blond is the same face as the Jadde Lee doll definitely and there are two that look like the Alex Ford dolls to me. The others I can't really tell but since I'm not crazy about those anyhow I don't guess it matters. The Bree doll has lovely carrot red hair and green eyes. She looks somewhat like the two Suzette's on Amazon but just different enough to be interesting. A bit more sophisticated than the World Class Beauty Suzette I have. (I picked her up on Amazon for an amazing $20 last year along with another Alex doll for the same price $20. It was $40 shipped for the two of them!) I'm going to rename this doll and let her be Suzette's slightly older sister. Seems about right to me.
I think she's got the older posable body which I really like. She might not have the posable feet. Some of the dolls made about the same time they dropped that feature, but I guess I can live without that. That's one of the reason I liked those fashion dolls though. They could go from flat to fashion shoes and you didn't have to change out the feet. (That and the fact that I can sometimes find them stupidly cheap compared to other dolls like that when they finally go on clearance.)
The clothes are just amazing on most of these dolls too. Madame Alex does some really nice quality outfits. Most of them will fit other 16" fashion dolls from what I've seen. The white dress on the Bree I just might keep. I usually sell the clothes but I do like what I can see of the white evening gown so far and I don't think I actually have an evening gown that is white like that for my 16" crew. It's very 30's and I tend to like clothes from that era so I might just keep it.
