First doll you wanted to buy?

What was the first doll you wanted to buy?

For me it was a Barbie doll of Megara from Disney's Hercules. My sister and I both wanted it badly, and we pooled our change and piggy banks and allowances together ant got it! I still have it. ^_^

My first doll I wanted to buy was a hand carved Hitty made of olive wood from the Holy Land. Luckily, the artist was willing to do layaway.

The first doll I ever wanted to buy was a Volks Megu. Sadly, I didn't have the money at the time, but she did get me started in the doll hobby as I had never really looked at dolls before her. I still think I might get her someday.

The first doll I did end up buying was actually a Madame Alexander Wendy. I forget which one, but I think it was a holiday one. I don't have her anymore.

Mamachapp Chun Li, It was because of hunting down for her that led me to end up with an Obitsu custom that brought me back into dolling.

Can't remember from my kid times, probably a Barbie I still have, but the first ball joint I saw in an ad that I saved up for was the Orientdoll Dae.

Well, that's an interesting question. The first doll I DID buy was Ivan. But was he the first I wanted to buy? The first time I ever saw a BJD was at DragonCon some... ah, 7 years ago now? I guess the first doll I WANTED to buy was a Volks like the one I'd seen but I'd not done the research at the time and let the interest lay dormant. The Volks I'd seen was dressed out like a goth rock star.

Now I remember, the first doll I wanted to buy with my own money was Joey MacIntyre of NKOTB. Still have him.

...Um first actual "Doll" I wanted to buy would be a BJD - so probably a Sabik, since I first encountered those on DevArt - which then got me into obitsus, barbies etc. building up into actually buying a BJD...

But taking that definition a tad more vaguely I think the answer to that is the 90s Star Wars toy line, I have a v.v.distinct/fond memory of begging for my 1st figure - it was an extremely muscular Luke Skywalker, he had some sort of hover-scooter thing that never actually turned up in the films!
