*Whispers name* Libidoll? They look suspiciously like Obitsus from the site that I found them on. But... The reason for my name whispering... The one English-language page that I found talking about them also mentioned that the company also makes the Other kind of doll that Japan is unfairly (in)famous for producing. I.e. sex dolls

Soo anyone seen one in real life? I'm not sure if the magnet joints seem like a good idea

They look more like Volks and Pure Neemo to me. Interesting idea, and I suspect that they would drop parts a lot during posing. I have never heard of them before, I would also be interested in learning more about them.

So yeah - did a quick google, and... got a few results for the off topic version (and parts). The manufacturer's name is, errr, interesting too ...

They very much remind me of Volks Mini Dollfie Dream. The ability to switch parts easily is intriguing, though I would be concerned with how well they would stay on. The company name swicks me out though. :?

I've got a magnet joint tiny Puki Puki and out of nowhere he'll drop a hand or foot.

Yea I kinda suspect the magnets (unless incredibly stupidly strong) would end up being more of a pain than a good thing!

(Hell even the stupidly strong ones would be a pain... I still remember the cautionary tale they kept telling us about a lab incident when renovation workers ignored the "no metal beyond this point line" at one of my old Uni's NMR suites... They figured that since the machine was off the magnet wasn't on. It's claimed that they came back to find their toolbox embedded in the cooling tower, and the liquid nitrogen had deoxygenated the room... :? Not that that stopped one of the professors giving us steel tools to "Feel how strong the magnet is this close to the machine!!" This was also the guy who, despite all the safety stuff warning against it, had his NMR machine in the attic of his lab so if anything did go wrong the liquid nitrogen would rain down onto the floors below...)

:? It's really unfortunate that this company is more known for the other kind of large doll, the dolls and outfits are adorable, but the embarassment factor for me is a bit too high for me to purchase! Though I've got to admit the name didn't click/really register until I read about what else they produce!

I was going to say something about keeping magnetic dolls away from your computer, but I like Vetinari's story better.
