Christmas Wishlist

Postby Jobee » Sun Dec 21, 2014 12:11 pm

If you could have any doll or dolly thing you wanted under the tree (or for Hanukkah, whichever), what would it be? Your dream doll? A whole bunch? A dolly mansion?

For me, it's definitely a matching body for Amiga. It's only a hair of a difference, but I can't get over it! And shoes. My dollies always need more shoes.

Definitely shoes! Maybe some eyes - although I'm just about pleased with everyone's now, but I'd like to try urethane eyes. Possibly wigs to try some different styles. Maybe some more basic clothes.

And I wouldn't be upset to find a Lillycat Eugenie, either

Ah, that would have to be a Limited Edition 17" Prince Hans doll from Disney Store (from Frozen). I am just utterly in love with his 1/6 sculpt and would be over the moon if they released a 17" version!!!! :)

Maybe next year? ^^ Here's hoping!!!!!

I am a chronic OOAKer and most of my dolls are still in an 'in-progress' stage as my tight budget makes saving for tools and parts a slooow process. Current wish list?

A very narrow (no more than 1/4 inch) and flexible tape measure that does centimeters. Really, do they even make this? It's a bleep getting sewing measurements off 1/6 dolls, and since I'm weird and actually like almost all of my named dolls to have different brand bodies to make them look more individual, few of them have exactly the same measurements. I've had to resort to using a ribbon and then measuring the ribbon... It's possibly the most frustrating part of what I've been doing lately.

Rerooting tool and some hair in the actual colors I want (I have plenty of short blond hair salvaged from barbies)... and I misplaced the thread... and I ordered the needles but they still haven't arrived (I am indecisive about which method will be best for me and plan to try both.) Lot of bald dolls here at the moment... and I'm itching to work more on faceups but don't want to risk in some cases until after the hair is done...

Ankle-high panty hose, in either nude or colors that would reasonably match hair. I can use these to make wig caps for those dolls that have had molded on hair and thus I don't think I can safely root. Additionally, spools of tulle in colors to match hair also, as possible use for stabilizer when making wefts.

Flocking. I am going to flock that pony...

Sealant for faceups. I'm not sure about using a spray-on like MSC even if I had somewhere to easily get it. I don't use chalks, so I think a brush-on sealant would work best for me. I'm not even sure of the brand name of a brush-on sealant for painting using acrylics on vinyl, tho... so I keep skipping on this and just being very careful.

An itty bitty table saw. This one's actually on my Amazon wishlist hopefully for next month. I'm going to try my hand at making decent 1/6 furniture, practicing on some 1/8" paneling scraps and then making better versions from 1/8 plywood. Pink plastic isn't really my thing...

Fabric. You'd think with enough scraps to fill three black garbage bags or more this would not be on my list, but in some cases I seem to be missing the exact bits I really need/want for specific things. XD

Shoes, though see below. And more mini magnets. I have been experimenting with using a dremel to make a spot on the soles of doll shoes and then gluing magnets in...

Fimo. Lots of Fimo. I have a book on making mini food that I still haven't had the chance to do anything with. Also mold making supplies and casting plastic and maybe I might take some of that Fimo and use it to make master copy attempts at making shoes. Really, Barbie shoes aren't going to fit but a few of mine anyway...

An extra Psycho brush or two (these are the ones used for painting tabletop gaming minis and the like, and also what I use to paint dolls)

Glasses. No, not for drinking. You see, I tried using magnifying goggles when painting but the darned things give me a headache, don't stay on well, keep falling down in front of my face when I don't want them there, and a half-dozen other nuisances. However, what's worked decently well for me is a pair of cheapo 3+ magnifying reading glasses I snagged at a dollar store to try on a whim to see if they'd be better. I no longer have any possible transportation to any dollar store to buy these, but Amazon has them (for a higher price...) They come in up to 6+, and I'm currently plotting to save for the whole range of them for working on projects.

Also I have a pending order with one place that I'm really wishing would acknowledge my order (they still haven't billed me and it's been days and I can't do any more shopping until I've paid for that...) because I've got a couple guys standing around headless waiting on that order... and also hopefully my first Sideshow body to measure and play with.

And the big one? Space to work in! Tho I know that's just something I'm going to have to figure out. (well, and I'm also saving for a new desk) XD

I doubt I'll see all that by xmas, but I'm hoping that by my birthday (in may) I'll have a completely different list. XD

If I could have anything under the tree, I would enough shoes to cover all of dolls feet, since I have always have that problem. Also, wood working supplies for building the dollhouse that I always want to do for my dolls. Also, more clothes that fit my 8 inch and 5 inch size dolls would nice, since finding mass produced clothes is almost impossible. And maybe a new pair of eyes for my Christmas arrival.

I have one of these. Wal-Mart has an amazing one made by Dritz. It's a fiberglass tailor's tape, exactly like the big ones, but only about 1/4" wide. It has inches on one side and centimeters on the other. I checked Wal-Mart's website and it looks like it's in stores only. This is the exact one I have.
I looked on ebay, though, and here's one that looks nearly identical but in a different color.

You're welcome! :D I was so excited when I picked mine up. Before that I was (failing at) using a regular sized tape and a bendy ruler.

I would love a 1/6 martial arts dojo with training grounds and the space at home to put it in.

In reality I would like a new book shelf so my 1/6ers can move in and get their partial dojo, living/dining room, garage, music and dance studio. An Iplehouse Dexter with the newer Hero body for Jack to switch over to. And shoes for Jack and Helen.
