Dollieh Sanctuary

It's October! Every year, I design spooky or fantasy themed costumes for my dolls, but every year, I run out of time and don't make them. I succeeded in making Halloween costumes for dolls once, many years ago, and I was very happy with them, but I haven't managed my October well enough to finish a costume since. This year, I'm gonna try to change that. I only have one doll on my mind, and she is getting a Dolloween costume!

Anyone else gonna do some Dolloween? Have some cute pics from Doll Halloween's past?

I have Halloween outfits for my 18" dolls but I never seem to get around to putting them on them. I was trying to decide if I wanted to put my Tonner girls in their dresses, as pictured, but I may be too lazy for that too. However, I have a pattern and some fabric out to make something for my Smarties. Fingers crossed I get my rear in gear.

I only have two dolls out to play with. I bought the OMG Fierce Cleopatra for her costume. Nanda will be Cleopatra for Halloween. Richila, my Mini-me, will be Wednesday Addams, maybe. Richila has glasses and locs. I don't use Flickr anymore and I'm not sure how to insert my pictures, so I put a link to my Instagram.

Progress Report: Over the weekend, I doodled many fun costume designs, and after careful consideration, finally settled on a classic witch for Snow's Halloween costume. I've also drafted a simple dress pattern to get started.

I cut out the witch dress today! I know it's super simple, but I haven't sewn in a while, baby steps and all that.

The costume is far from complete, but I realized she looks like Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service when I put her original bow on her head. So, if I don't get the rest of her costume done, she can at least be Kiki. It took a few tries, but I got my hands on some black felt, so I can finally work on her hat. Black felt is unsurprisingly in short supply during October.

She makes an adorable Kiki! Well done!

I'd keep her as Kiki. Get some pipe cleaners and make her cat!
