Dolloween 2024

Another month of Dolloween is upon us! Is anyone else going to make Halloween themed doll crafts this month? I finally found the little wire fairy wings I want to use to make fairy costumes for Sunny and Violet, so I'm going to at least make those. I've picked out a dress pattern to modify to make the fairy costumes. Sunny and Violet already have little tulle skirts to wear under them, so half the work's already done! Just need to color the white wings and make the little dresses!

I really want to, but I'm working so much right now that at this point I'll be lucky to get anything done by Halloween NEXT year.

I have a bunch of Halloween colored prints, stripes, plaid, dots, and an adorable rag doll with clothes pattern that I thought was gone years and two moves ago but it turns out it and the box of doll patterns it was with had just managed to hide themselves in a safe place.

Sweet! Are you going to make the doll?

If time and my back allows I'll make her.

Here are my rough drawings of Violet and Sunny's fairy dresses. I'm really torn between the top and bottom color schemes. The top row more represents violets and sunflowers. The bottom row just sticks to their color schemes.

What about making the top and bottom two separate pieces instead of making dresses? Then you could make both colors of tops and just swap them out.

Or you can make them reversible which works if the piece needs to be lined. One thing I did with the ragdoll and her clothes in the past was make one side of a dress from one fabric and the other side from another fabric.

But if it's a tiny doll then a one piece dress is a bit easier. I'm thinking these are Rainbow High and they don't have very long torsos.

And I found a picture of the pattern envelope. It's an old Butterick 3668. She's about a foot tall and makes up much cuter than the drawing. https://64.media.tumblr.com/5377f254a36 ... 45ccd5.png

*edit- got her cut out, some of the pieces are different fabrics front and back. It was tricky picking out what to use for the things with sleeves so they wouldn't look wonky when done up. Didn't do the coat so there won't be any fasteners.

Where did you find wings?
I have patterns for Morticia and Wednesday dresses that I haven't printed yet. But I also have a pattern, fabric and glasses for Bayonetta. I need to pick something and stick to it.
