Questions about yellowing.

So... is there a point at which a doll STOPS yellowing, or will it continue to get more yellow forever and ever?

I have some dolls that I got secondhand who are are 4-5 years old and are already quite yellow.

Will they keep turning color or is there a point at which resin cannot possibly turn any more yellow?

I have an Angel of Dream Fei and she is really quite yellow! She's 5 years old now (wow, did I really get my first resin 5 years ago???) and I've been very lucky that her yellowing is perfectly even! But I guess time will tell just how yellow they will really become...

From what I've noticed about my oldest girls, one who is 6 years old and the other 7 years old, yellowing slows down. Fleur and Alwyn haven't yellowed to any noticeable degree in the past three years.

I don't think the process necessarily stops though, as it is a natural reaction to oxygen.

Yeah - by necessity the reaction does stop, eventually the unreacted PU runs out - there isn't an infinite amount of it.
Unfortunately the colour change caused before you reach this end point does seem to vary... (I still don't understand why aromatic PU is used rather than aliphatic... as far as I can tell that would reduce the yellowing dramatically. Probably economics...)

Sorry, I had just woken up. Of course the reaction will eventually stop, that's basic science for you. The colour change does vary by company and even by batch of resin in the same company.

Oh it didn't, don't worry. It's just that I'm persuing a Ba in science so I'm a little embaressed that I wasn't fully awake enough to remember that all reactions have to stop eventually.

My Dollzones are going on 6-7 years and have settled in their shades. I'm so used to it I can't remember what they looked like new.

I was curious about this as well. Ivan is three years old now and he's still really creamy white. Or was he creamy-white to begin with..... I don't remember. Maybe he has mellowed a bit. Nooooooooooo.... Ivaaaaaaaaaaaannn....
