I remember seeing a post somewhere were a person dyed their dd a very tan color. I would love to know if anyone has a tutorial on how to do that. I'm thinking of having her be a nice cappuccino color.
Vinyl takes dye very well because it is relatively porous, which is why the buggers stain like nobody's business. The big problem with staining an entire DD will be the visible hard plastic parts at the various joints. These parts are nowhere near as porous as the soft vinyl of the rest of the body and will not take the dye very well. Painting these parts to match is not hard but you will encounter problems keeping the paint in place as the paint is constantly abraded when the joints are moved.
I'm not saying don't try to do it, I just want you to be aware of some of the problems going into the project.
