Help :\

Postby mochi.kochi » Fri Apr 19, 2013 2:34 am

Hey guys, I've been looking around website which match Mirodoll's normal skin. I want to buy Amber high heeled feet and jointed hands, if possible, from the same site to save shipping fees. After looong hours of searching, I found crobidoll BUT I noticed a small detail which could lead to a disaster if I didn't notice it.

Amber's knee joint curves upwards like so:

But crobidoll's curve downward like so:

This is going to be a problem isn't it?

uugh, anyone know where I can get both hands and feet?

Knees really don't have anything at all to do with the feet, so that shouldn't be a problem. What you need to concern yourself with is the diameter of the wrist portion and the ankles. That's where the new parts are going to be seated into the current body.

Grey-sama is absolutely right---knees have nothing to do with the feet.

Buuuut, the part you will need to worry about is that the Miro bodies have slightly strange feet and hand connections, in that the 'ball' is actually a molded part of the foot/hand (like BBB, I think) and the elastic goes right through the joint. (No 'S' hooks involved.) So you'll need to make sure that the new feet/hands you purchase are compatible that way.

Most probably are, or can be used, with a bit of tweaking/adjustment.

Beautiful hands (jointed) are made by DikaDoll and they're very nicely priced, too. They're my favorites---so elegant and realistic looking, without too many 'ugly' joints.

I bought DZ jointed hands, but they're so UGLY! They look robotic. EEK! I was so disappointed because I really like DZ!

The Dikadoll hands are gorgeous and so expressive and they have 3 styles of 1/3 female. (Short nails, long nails, extra long nails). If you do go for Dika, you'd want to go for NS-P to match close the Miro NS. It might be a tad be pinker/darker than Miro, but not much. Would be a close match.

I also recommend Island Doll hands and Doll Leaves. Both are also very nicely made and pretty!!!!

I've read that on some of the mirodoll guys the wrist joint is actually oval shaped and not round. If that's the case with the girls too, you may need to boil the wrists to gently reshape them to make a new pair of hands fit.

They do have gorgeous detail, I actually liked theirs the most :) I could just go for the hands since she can stand in her heels using the stand :D. So just the part where the joints connect? Uh, like the wrist part, you mentioned the string goes through w/o s-hooks. Is dikadoll like that? i'm not too sure >.< I was able to use paper clips as something like an s-hook ( I think.) and i've got no idea now if that would help XD

And oh, how do you know the price and buy the item from dikadoll's website? I've been there but could not, for the life of me, figure out how >.<

They are $79 for short nails or $94 for long nails, plus s/h and here's their link:

http://www.alicescollections.com/dk-13- ... th=218_220

They're the best to buy from---fastest and least costly s/h worldwide. ^^ I bought a Dragondoll head through them and it took about 40 days.
I was expecting 3-4 months because that's how long it took through MoC! And Dragondoll themselves were estimating a 2-3 month delivery. I don't know how Alice's Collections did it so fast!! (And their s/h was $23 less than from DragonDoll!)

You'd want 'Normal Pink' tone. ^^

I see they also have Illusion Spirit hands, which also look nice. I don't own a pair so I don't really know how they are, though. But they look pretty!

Hope it helps!!!

I'm not 100% certain they'll fit 'like a glove' but they should fit decently at any rate. The Miro doll wrists seem large so they should fit any type of jointed hands.

I no longer own a pair of the 60cm Dikadoll jointed hands so I can't 'try' them on my Miro girl, but I do have a pair of 60cm Doll Leaves jointed hands I can try on her. They *should* be similar in size, right?

Or I have a pair of 70cm Dikadoll male hands.....those are bigger. Maybe if I see if they're 'compatible' enough, then the 60cm female hands should definitely be, right?

Let me know if you want me to check....

If mirodoll's wrists are bigger, I find that even better than the wrist being smaller. XD yey~ Thank you!!!! :HUGS:!!!!!
