Weekly DQ: #29

This week's Dollieh Question from our list. (viewtopic.php?f=41&t=6677)

29. Dolls with piercings: Have them, dislike them, or don't mind at all.

I don't mind them at all. Put I draw the line at stretched piercings and nipple piercings on anything or anyone.
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

I tend to think of a doll as representing a certain character. If the chara would have piercings, then the doll would need to or it wouldn't be an accurate representation. That said, I don't yet have any dolls with piercings (except for earrings, in the case of numerous recycled Barbie heads), and I don't know whether or not I will. I can only think of one of my charas that might have them... and I'm not sure how to do that to a doll when it comes to it.

Oh man I love piercings period and I love seeing dolls with piercings. OutBriefCandle here has done an amazing job with the piercings on her sprite. I haven't gotten around to doing piercings on my own dolls yet but Kellan will eventually get an industrial bar although I think I'll try to glue it rather than drill.

None of my dolls have them... I generally don't put ANY jewelry on my dolls, with a few rare exceptions.

I do like the way it looks, but I probably would only go with the glued-on fake "piercing" so there wouldn't be a hole if were removed later.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Abe and Foster have piercings. Abe has loads, but for the doll I just did the earrings. I haven't figured out how to do the one over his brow and don't see the need in piercing all the ones that go under clothes. He never sits around without clothes so you know... it seemed a bit pointless.

I thought about giving Micah an earring but eeeehh... I keep waffling back and forth over that one.

don't have any. My dolls don't actively wear jewellery on their usual days. Unless their cosplaying.

Ridley has earrings. His description I had created for the comic originally had him with as many piercings as possible to protect his ears, and while they aren't AS covered as they "should" be, he's got some nice ones. He's not actually pierced though; they're on with glue.

By the same token, Myrddin came to me with his ears pierced by a previous owner, but I could never have him in earrings. While he is a very flamboyant character in appearance he's so not a piercing person.

None of my characters have any piercings so none of my dolls so far wear piercings. Ethel's ears were pierced by Souldoll or the previous owner, but I don't have any earrings for her.

Several of my dolls have earrings. It's hard finding earrings that actually fit in the ears. I generally just use tiny hoop earrings as these look the best scale-wise. I'd try dangles but I'd really need to cut the hooks down for them to look good. One of these days I'll get up the ambition and go through all of my beading supplies and attempt to make my own for them.
