Omg I am having such a difficult time!!
Is this normal?
The S hook goes through a hole in headcap and sits in a donut slot.
Ya, Right.
I fight and fight pulling on elastic and the donut spinning - snap it all closed,
and EVERY time I look and her eyes have spun back to look like a drunk zombie- @_@
Sooo, I pull up the headcap and repeat-repeat-repeat !!!
Gaaaah!!!!!!!!!

Ah, you must have the type one Delf. Type 2 delf is so much easier to deal with. But have you considered just sitting the S-hook in the neck donut and using sticky velcro or tape to hold the headcap on? Makes it a bit easier that way, and no eyes getting knocked out of alignment.

Are you using a hair tye to hold the hook up? It seems to help a lot from the videos I've seen.

I saw a tutorial once where a person had taken apoxy and sculpted two little magnet wells onto the head cap and head base, creating a magnet system for a doll that originally didn't have one. I think it was a modified Obitsu head.

Don't know if something like that would interest you.

Yes, magnets do interest me! I have them, and a dremel but would love links!
(the dowel was a dumb idea) I am getting elastic soon and am thinking of cutting the
post off the eyes.

I'd originally read this years ago, I want to say it was Kiki cutting the cap off of an Obitsu and making it a magnetic head instead. It was probably on the Junkyspot forums. I can't find the link, but I remember what it looked like.

She'd taken a small amount of Apoxie and just made a little "shelf" on the front and back of inside the head, and stuck a magnet down in it. It was set in such a way that it was completely flush to the top of the head. Let it dry for 24 hours.

The next day the same little magnet shelf was added to the head cap, making sure that it was lined up properly with the top of the head, that it was flush with the cap, that the head closed down properly, and that the magnets were faced the right direction in the apoxie. (lol, cause doing it backwards would suck.) Again, let it dry for 24 hours.

Then the head should have new magnets. The best magnet source is K & J.

You'd just need a small tub of Apoxie and 4 magnets.
