Hello, does anyone know about how long it takes to receive free samples and orders in the mail from Dollyhair in the U.S.? :?:

Give it a week or two, she might be the only person working there.

Well, I was wondering because it's been about a month an a half, and I was wondering if it's normal for it to take this long? I'm not trying to complain or bash Dollyhair at all, because I think their stuff is great and I really want to order a lot of stuff from them for my dolls, and I know she has a personal life too. I was just wondering what the average waiting time is if you ask for samples and if you order.

That does seem long for the US. Do you know if it even went through?

I haven't placed an actual order yet, I was asking for samples so I could decide on the right colors, then order. I sent her an email requesting the colors I wanted to sample, just like she said to do. But I never got anything in the mail or an email from her, so I wasn't sure it got to her. I sent her emails about it a couple of weeks ago, but she never answered me. My sister wrote to me and said the same thing is happening to her. I'm not sure what to do because I have quite a few hair colors I'd like to sample to make sure I buy the right colors, but it seems to be taking quite a while. I'm not sure what to do.

Last I heard the owner was going through some rough patches that's made her behind on everything. Try sending another email.

Maybe order something small you can't mess up on, like black or white, or one of the surprise bags with the samples.

What colors re you curious about? A lot of us have ordered and might be able to help.

There are a lot of colors my sister and I wanted to sample eventually so we can decide on our orders, but if anyone can help in any way, I'd appreciate it tremendously. :)

She is only one person running the whole thing I believe. She does a pretty good job but she's only one of two people out there that I know of running a doll hair business and I think she gets overwhelmed sometimes with the level of business, and depending upon how many samples you asked for it can take a while as she doesn't always have every single color in stock. Usually it's a month at least when I've placed an order. I honestly don't order from the two doll hair places much anymore. I just use the better silky kanekalon from the beauty store a lot.

Used to be it was a bit too rough for use as doll hair but the past year or so the silky stuff has gotten so much finer and there are so many colors it actually works pretty well. I do soak the darker colors like wine red sometimes before I use them to check to make sure it's colorfast but I've not had a lot of issues with that unless I picked up a new brand to check it out. This is the stuff I use though I get mine locally. One pack is 2-4 doll heads worth of hair depending upon how big the doll head is. I don't root so much anymore though. It's too hard on my hands. I have arthritis. I'm actually making wefts and wigs with it instead. It's not quite as silky as the official doll hair but it's softer and smoother and not nearly as coarse as most weft hair is and it works quite well actually.

This store is in UK and has the same stock as Dolly Hair. I use it as a rough gauge before ordering from Dollyhair (what with difference in monitor coloring and what not)

Nickel as close as my camera sees it
