To Vinyl or Not to Vinyl

I'm beginning to think that aside from my handful of MH dolls, vinyl just isn't for me. I recently bought a Tonner Nu Mood Sidney (wigged) and immediately regretted it because I didn't like her sculpt. I put her up on Ebay the next day and sold her.
So I thought, okay I'll try a Delilah Noir. They have inset eyes, a head cap and a wig. I found a great deal on a fullset Lady Onyx and she arrived today. I actually like her grayish-cream skin tone. But she had never been removed from her box - or her black outfit. I took stock of her condition and she has a couple really obvious stain spots on her back. Only there was no dye bleeding through the tissue paper wrapped around her torso, so I have no clue where the stains came from. One of them is a straight line on the back of her arm that's nearly a 1/4 inch long and it's very dark. The other is a splotchy inch long stain that runs horizontally across the center section of her upper back. It's much lighter, but neither would come out with a light buff of a damp Magic Eraser. I'm too afraid to apply too much pressure. The stains would probably be covered up with clothing, but I'm worried that any color clothing will stain her more. And, I hate that the feet have such limited mobility - why did they make her that way?! Oh, and the soles of the boots were loose. Not cool.
I also have a fullset Ellowyne Alone on Sunday coming. I bought a basic Ellowyne last year that just stood on display all this time because we just never bonded and she had manufacturing issues (I've put her up for sale, too). I'm really hoping this new one works for me. From the photos I've seen of her, she's really quite lovely.
All I know is that if a resin BJD came with all the issues the vinyl ones I've gotten had, I'd been pissed. I don't think I'm a really picky person by nature, but maybe I've become spoiled by the workmanship of resin dolls?
I'm already thinking about turning around and selling the Lady Onyx. I'm not willing to put that dress back on her at this point.
