Question on Mail?

Postby ShadowKat » Sun Dec 22, 2013 4:11 pm

I wasn't really sure where to put this, but maybe somebody here with more experience can help me out.

I ordered an Azone Illya earlier this month from a seller in Japan. The seller sent her Registered Mail instead of EMS. She did come with a tracking number.
Up until the last couple of days, I haven't been that worried about her. She tracked normally until she departed Atlanta on the 18th. I live in NE Alabama. Usually, after Atlanta, they go to Birmingham, or maybe Huntsville, before getting to my local PO. It'll usually get here within 2 days of Atlanta.
So I started waiting on the mail lady. We've had packages arrive without updating again until after it's sitting in our living room. Even our mail lady agreed that it should have gotten here from Atlanta already.
And then last night it updated that it had arrived and departed OPA LOCKA, FL! Florida!!! Why is my Illya in Florida?!?

Can I contact the post office tomorrow and see if the package is actually addressed to me? Would they even be able to do this?
Should I contact my seller and make sure they gave me the right tracking number? I'm kinda hesitant to do this because I'm afraid something will be lost in translation (We've messaged before and it's kinda hard to understand their English).
I'm terrified that she's been sent to the wrong person. Is there anything I can do?

You should call your local post office in the morning and ask to speak to the supervisor. Have all of your tracking information handy.

Thanks, Kirahfaye!
We actually had some errands out in town Monday, so we swung by the PO. I guess it's where it's a tiny office, but they couldn't help me out at all. They just gave me a 1-800 number to call.
We decided to wait it out, and Monday night it got scanned back out of Florida. Christmas eve, right before midnight, she's in Birmingham! :D She arrived this morning! YAY!

Meh... We think she just got put on the wrong truck out of Atlanta and once she got to FL they realized their mistake. I guess I panicked a little too soon, but she's here now, safe and sound!

Glad to hear she's arrived!

Thanks! :) We were really relieved when she showed up in Birmingham, and even more so when she finally got here.
