Creepy or Scary doll stories?

Postby claws » Fri Jan 24, 2014 2:15 am

I'm not talking about the way some people think it's creepy to have so many dolls sitting around staring at you. ;) I'm talking legit creepy times. I started thinking about something that happened to me when I was about five years old, and then I wondered if anyone else had similar experiences.
When I was little, my parents went out of town. They had to leave me and my siblings with our grandmother. When they came back, they brought us gifts (my mom loves to find any excuse to give gifts!) My gift was a beautiful bride doll, the kind that's made to look like a child, with the glued-on hair and all that, you know? The most striking thing about this doll was its eyes. They were clear glass, and had an interesting swirling pattern in them. I was really happy and spent the rest of the day playing with her.

I remember waking up later that night in my bed, feeling terrible. I was running a fever and felt so sick. I rolled over and looked down at the floor...right into the doll's strange eyes. I immediately got up and went into the living room where my parents were watching TV. I told them I didn't feel well, then I mentioned that my new doll scared me. My dad took it and got rid of it the next day. I still don't know what he did with it, but I remember my mom saying that, if there really was something wrong...I mean, way wrong...with the doll, they wanted to be sure no other kid could get it. That was a looong time ago, but it still creeps me out to think about it. It could have just been coincidence, and maybe I was coming down with something all along and just didn't realize it, but all I know for sure is I was very afraid of that doll and her weird eyes. After that, I slept only with stuffed animals, and put them all over my bed to protect me while I slept at night. :P

Anybody else have a weird doll story?

I was at my boyfriend's mom's house sometime this past summer or maybe last spring when something weird happened, or at least I swear it did. We had got there to visit before his parents had got home from work. I was in the living room alone where his mom has the one wall covered in antique dolls in and on top of a cabinet, on chairs when I swear I saw one of the dolls on the top of the cabinet tip forward so it kind of looked like it was looking down for a few moments than tip back to it's previous position. It was real weird to me so I mentioned it to him and he said something along the lines that that sort of thing has happened before.
I know it's not super exciting, but it sure creeps me out. I don't know if there's a good explanation for it or not.

That's pretty scary to me! Did he say it was always the same doll or did others do it too? Man, I would have ran out of that house so fast!

No, he didn't, but I wasn't asking either. I think they were his grandmother's dolls and I remember him telling me that they'd freak him out at night as a kid. His grandmother had a whole room of them and that's where he'd sleep when he stayed there.
I'm just happy he still likes my dolls ok. Of course, I don't keep mine out at night either.

I probably would have fled the house! I don't think any thought frightens me more than the idea that dolls/toys/house are watching us. That's why mine aren't allowed in my room. Except for Maddie, of course.

A friend of mine inherited a large doll collection. Most are antique. She loves them but she completely freaked me out by telling me that they sometimes hear children laughing and see things moving around in the shadows. They don't think its the dolls but, it started when they got the dolls. I really hope they just like telling ghost stories. :P

The creepiest thing that has happened to me doll-wise happened right after I got this beautiful doll. She was a my mom's and has this beautiful Victorian dress and perfect blonde hair. Anywho, so I took her downstairs to my room and had her on my desk, and I was working on my computer whilst trying to think of a name for her. Suddenly, I hear someone whisper in my ear "Luceilia". I was all alone, but I most definitely heard someone whisper in my ear. I just kinda looked at my doll and went "Okay, and that is your name". Not terribly creepy, but still a bit paranormal.

And then there is this creepy thing that isn't paranormal, but I find funny. When I work on my Monster High dolls, I put there heads on a pencil which I stick in a glass jar of rocks. So, it looks like I have a severed head on a pike. I like to put them in public areas of my house, like the dining room, and freak people out.
