Antique Store Find

Postby Calivano » Sun Mar 02, 2014 3:13 pm

I went 'tiquing the other day and I found this beautiful Bonomi Italian Doll. Has anyone ever heard of this maker? She was a Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive and I am wondering what she might be worth. Here are a few of her pictures.

Her eyes swivel back and forth, kinda like those old felix that cat clocks

The zipper for her jacket cant be unfastened.

She has what is called "Flirty Eye". Bonomi started in the 60's, from what I can find with a few quick online searches. It looks like the dolls do have value. She looks like a very nice doll too!

If she isn't crazed, cracked, the wig is original, and doesn't have a sour smell you're already in great shape. Unless she's a reproduction. Either way enjoy the heck out of her. I'd make vintage looking clothes for her, a trunk to keep them in, everything a spoiled doll from that era would have.
