BJD Pattern request

Postby versora » Thu Apr 17, 2014 3:36 pm

Hellos. Not really sure if this goes here. But I have been looking for a pattern. I had it saved down, but my dumbass computer decided it was gonna do a factory restore last month, resulting in me losing all the data I had stored on it.

Anyway the pattern is from Dressmaking Book for Super Dollfie Vol. 3 [I know it's in Japanese]
The name of the pattern is Invitation to Deep Red for SD 13 [I imagine I can resize it to fit Joshua]

Here's a pic of the finished pattern and no I didn't sew it:

If anyone knows where I can get it or if anyone can scan me a copy, I would greatly appreciate it and loves you forevers.

You are probably going to have to buy the book.

It's still available and costs about $18

Though I won't rant about it to the level I did recasts, I strongly discourage the copying of in-print patterns when they can still be purchased.

Remember, if no one ever buys a pattern, the creators will never make new ones. I, myself, own this book and it was well worth the money I paid. Even though it is in Japanese the instructions are well illustrated for a sewer with some experience.

Ah, Ok. Looks like I get to hit up Ebay since i may find it cheaper there. I don't like recasts either, but that's a discussion for another thread, I suppose.

Hard to say if you'll find it cheaper there. Japanese doll books always seem to be grosely overprised on there whenever I see them listed. But you might get lucky :)

What's the outfit made of? A ruffly shirt, jacket, and pants? Might be able to help you figure out how to make it, especially if you have to fit it for a certain doll.

Single patterns are almost always between $12 and $20. $18 plus shipping for an entire book is pretty much a bargain.

I paid a lot more for that book - that sounds like a bargain! There are a lot of really good patterns in that book, and you should get it!

I've been finding the pattern books very cheap on Mandrake lately. So you may want to hit up there. They even ship internationally so no need to get a shopping service for them. :D Just search for Dollfie.
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

What are the forum rules on pattern trading? Can't know if no one asks.

For example I have several volumes of a very hard to find out of print series of American doll patterns and would like to find one I don't have. What are general rules on offering to trade a copy of one volume for a copy of another or do we not want to go there on this forum?
