Grumbacher Sealant

Has anyone ever used Grumbacher Glossy as a sealant for a body blush? I just used it to seal my first body blush. So far it seems to work great, but I'm wondering how it will fare long term. I read on fyeahbjds to use matte or flat sealant "unless you want your doll to look like Barbie's bigger cousin", but gloss dosent look that bad.

If the Grumbacher you got says it is for oil paintings you must get it off NOW or risk having your doll ruined forever. The result of using anything meant for oil paintings on doll resin can range from permanent staining, to pitting, to turning the resin crumbly.

Otherwise, it is considered dubious to use. Some people have had no trouble. Some people have had the sealant affect the resin, from staining to pitting.

In the best case scenario, your doll will never look as if it is "fleshy" and always look look plastic because of the gloss surface. You will see the difference if you have your doll next to someone else's.

Turns out the sealant I was talking about to blush my Iplehouse Luna wasnt really a true sealant, it was a fixative. It was grumbacher gloss fixative for chalk pastels and water colored pencils, which is not really made for resin. Not that it will stain or pit the resin, but like hairspray it comes off way too easy. It drys and then peels off like plastic wrap. So it just melted off when I used rubbing alcohol to redo my body blush. I ended up using Mister Super Clear to redo the blush and holy clean cat whiskers, Batman she has never looked more beautiful. Literally. (Iple didnt send her blushed). Now, all I need is for someone (ahem) to send me back her gorgeous little head! thanks guise!
