I think the concern with teh darker resins is that scratches are going to show a lot more easily than on pale colors. I don't have a choco pukipuki, but i have many other colored resins and you definitey have to be gentler with them to make sure you don't scratch them. Sanding is also not recommended.

In terms of faceups, where I have had issues is with using too heavy of a coat of fixative spray. You need to be light handed with it or it will show as a white film.
