i apologize that i didn't know the rules about recasts. i know that selling/buying them here was wrong, i didn't realize that talking about considering one was wrong. UnU i'm sorry, and i hope i didn't offend anyone or anything. i guess i forgot how strongly people feel about them. i won't mention them again.
that being said, i like bobobies! i remember seeing on a confessions blog once that they get hate in the community, though. is that true?

There are lots of ebay and etsy dealers with clothing and patterns for the American Girl Mini girls and Etsy artists who make Pukifee sized clothing.

One other doll this size that is lovely is Lati Yellow.
I believe they can only be purchased from the company and there is always a very long wait time, but froiends who have them insist that they are worth the wait.

No doll is popular with everyone. I wouldn't worry about the "community" if you like the doll. As far as I know, they are on-topic everywhere bjd's are welcome. I have seen some amazing pictures done with them, too! I have known people who really dislike them, and some people who really love the sculpts that BBB and REsinsoul do and only collect those. In the end, as long as you are happy, ignore negative comments and enjoy!

Yes, there are people out there who don't like Resinsoul and Bobobie because they're cheap - they seem to think that unless you shell out 2-3 times or more that amount for a doll you're not "serious" about the hobby. All it tells me is that they're snobs who are influenced more by their thinking that the higher the cost of the doll the better their (the person's) status will be.

There are also people out there who don't like Fairyland's Minifee Chloe because the sculpt is "too popular"

So go with what you like - you're the one who'll be spending the money for it, and spending the most time with it; so first and foremost you need to make sure it's one you're happy with.

If I remember correctly, it is a minimum of 6 months.

I just saw someone mentioning Bobobies, and went "oo oo!" I am definitely one of the fans of BBB and ResinSoul (more-so ResinSoul, but anything you can get at RS, you can pretty much get at BBB; they're sister companies). There are eight of their 1/4 size guys at our house right now, if you include the two visitors and all the hybrids (actually, most of them are hybrids, one way or another). I have several more expensive dolls, but I keep coming back to RS sculpts. One of my Jun boys is getting a make-over, and I just made his new wig last night. My Wu girl is getting a body upgrade, but her old body is going to a MNF head. Three of their 60cm people, and one of their 70cm are permanent residents here, and there is one of their 27cm little darlings visiting here as well.

It's pretty easy to get pictures of BBB/RS dolls here. We love sharing pictures, and a lot of the members here have one or two (or ten).

On the whole 'community hate' thing... people are always going to single out things/other people as being inferior, one way or another. If it isn't the cost of the doll, it's the sculpt (such as the MNF Chloee, and now I've seen hate for Doll Chateau Bella for the same reason). If it isn't the sculpt, it's the face-up/wig/clothes etc. It's human nature to try to exclude others from a group; groups are exclusive by nature, otherwise it wouldn't be a group at all. The important thing is that YOU love your doll. You're the one spending the money, you're the one that the doll will belong to, you're the one that has to live with that doll. I feel bad for any little resin person that is brought into a home simply to be a status symbol, only to sit on the shelf, unloved.

thanks all so so much for all the tips about the community, stigmas, statuses, etc etc. sorry for my insecurity, being new to a hobby with a community like this is really scary ... i've been in a hobby similar (figure collecting) before, and the group was so large that hey nothing really mattered, and you mostly just had kind of a small circle of friends away from the rest of the huge hobby. knowing that the BJD hobby is a lot smaller, it's been really nice to get so much closure from such great people. ^///^ thank you!
aside from that yucky gushiness, i recently got another friend of mine into BJDs, and we looked at a bunch of resinsouls then. i think i will look at them again and see what their tinies are like, i remember she loved them even though she decided on asking for a nano freya for christmas. her opinion is as good as mine, right?
of course, i won't get a tiny until i've really solidly bonded with what i hope will be my first non-fixer upper BJD, but knowing all this is really great. i adore the price of the tiny bobobies, and i've kind of fallen for the dark-skinned one with closed eyes. (15 cm cookie? i'm not so good at naming sculpts and things ^^;;; )
and yeah, like i said, if you guys have any pictures you wanna share that'd be so cool! i'd lovelovelove to see them!

Don't worry about bonding, don't be embarrassed to gush, don't be afraid to have your own opinion. When you find your doll, or the doll finds you, you will know.

If I had worried about what other people thought and not listened to what I wanted with a doll I wouldn't have my Dollzone Xavier, the black haired boy in my avatar. According to other people he was "cheap" and "fugly" and anything else they could come up with. If I didn't have Xavier I couldn't have entered the Dollzone photo contest with my sister, then we wouldn't have got the twins which is the only anything we've ever won together. That's worth more than having a doll that strangers approve of.

I realise this is straying away from the OP, but my first BJDs were Resinsoul and they just never really gelled with me, and I ended up selling them. For a very short while I let myself be convinced by the opinion that BJDs at the cheaper end just aren't any good and that I should have saved for a Minifee at the very cheapest. I later realised it was simply because I didn't like Resinsoul's white resin...

(I've also since realised that buying to dolls to fit characters and story ideas that already exist in my mind is a sure fire way to very quickly go off the dolls, the characters and the story concept. I'm having far more fun now developing characters and stories around the chunks of resin, plastic, vinyl and nylon I've drawn to enough to want to buy)

The moral of this diversion is that everyone is different and you don't have to like what they like, or vice versa

I have a whole gaggle of Littlefee and Pukifee, myself (five littles, four puki). I just love the engineering of their bodies. The way they pose is amazing, which makes the price worth paying. I did have one Resinsoul tiny, one of the dragons. He was adorable, but because he was so awkward to dress (those huge claw feet did not allow for pants) he just sat nekkid on the shelf most of the time, so I eventually sold him to someone who could do something with him. While I had him, though, I didn't think his quality was any worse than my other more expensive tinies. His resin was beautiful! Silky smooth, and his seams were all sanded, too, which was a nice touch! Fairyland doesn't do that with their dolls, and if you want sanding from other companies most times you have to pay through the nose for it. Resinsoul is definitely not a bad company to start out with.
