Blind box tinies

Got a Penny's blind box centaur in a trade, was already assembled and the black dress might be separate. She's heavy compared to my other 11-12cm tinies and her head is bigger. Nice joints, spare hands, and little wings that stick on with magnets.

It's tempting to buy her some friends, the dragon bodied taurs are tempting, and there's mermaids along with human bodied ones.

The centaurs DID come with dresses. I'm not sure if that's her original one.

The pink one in the bag is her original one, it's the black one I don't know about.

I little over a year ago I got myself and my daughter a couple of Penny's blind box cuties. I'd have to dig up the paperwork to remember which ones, though! LOL

Ahhh. I've watched several YouTube videos about them, so the black dress looks familiar, just not sure where from.

I love these tinies. I'm surprised I haven't heard more about them in BJD circles. An affordable fullset fantasy BJD in this economy? I kind of want to buy more of them! One of the places you can buy them from sells different clothing separately. They might have had that black dress there too.

They aren't considered "on topic" for some other doll forums so they don't get talked about much. Also when you compare them to a resin as opposed to like PVC doll you can tell there's a bit of a difference. Might also be the big head chibi look.

I bought a mermaid, I wanted to see how her joints work, but unless there's something else unique I'm not interested in another one, but I also have a jointed dragon body. If I didn't have a bunch of other dolls I might be more interested.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I feel these fit between BJD and Obitsu tinies, especially when you consider you can buy blank, bald heads with replaceable eyes for them. They're really lovely way to experiment with strung articulated dolls without breaking the bank.

So even though they're not on topic for say, Den of Angels, I'm surprised they're not being spoken about more in general, here or say Tumblr? They're absolutely lovely. They look like candy. X3c

I think Tumblr might have been where I first saw them, you just have to find where they hide. I have an 11cm Obitsu and several on topic tinies too, body wise the box pair I have fit in with them but the giant heads stand out.

For the general person who like the look of them they're perfectly fine little dolls. The quality is nice so you do get what you pay retail for. Just know what options are available with each batch and be prepared to get the one you want the least if you're only buying one, or two of if you get doubles, then again that's my general blind figures box rule.

I have a yellow-orange mermaid whom I'd trade for any other color combination from her group. It's not the colors, it's my tetrochomacy.
