Dollieh Sanctuary

My mom likes little tiny dolls, like the TY Li'l Ones, so I decided to take one of those and make her a doll of Alice, which she also loves. I got a little blonde with blue eyes and made her the blue dress and white pinafore, then because I'm a little nuts and each of the dolls comes with a small pet, I got a second doll who had a grey kitten and reaffixed Alice to the backing with the cat using some clear beading elastic. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the doll before unpackaging her and taking apart her clothes to use as a pattern. Both pieces come off, I used the velcro from her original outfit to close the blue dress, and the pinafore ties with ribbon in the back. The dress is the same fabric I used for the sundress Peaseblossom my BBB Ariel is always wearing and the pinafore is little bits of trim and ribbon, with two tiny beads for detail. I used the selvedge for the ends of the sleeves and skirt and all raw edges were blanket stitched, because at that size I am NOT going to try to do a hem! XD The whole project took two afternoons of a couple hours each...it probably wouldn't have taken so long if I hadn't been keeping it a secret and freezing my fingers off in my room. XD




They're kind of cute, so I may keep the spare doll and puppy. If I do I'll probably make her a dress of her own and name her Thumbelina.

XD Yeah, she got it on Christmas. I just didn't want to put the pictures up before she'd seen it and then I didn't get around to it until now. And yeah, she liked it.

I bought one of those once for it's outfit (to give to one of my brownies) and I was so bummed to find out the top and skirt were sewn together as one piece ><

I think you did an awesome job on that outfit! But really, hems aren't that bad at that size - just very very careful to do hahahaha.
