Tiny Dolliehs for Beginners?

oh my goodness, every time i see a tiny BJD (or really, anything smaller than my pullip  ), i fall in love! i can't stop looking at pukifees. they're soooo presh! but i'm really concerned, because i'm totally new to the BJD hobby. do small BJDs require special care that larger ones don't? Do they ship faster, get cheaper faceups, etc.? after i spend a little time with my upcoming first hujoo, i really really want to save up for a pukifee, or something that looks like a pukifee, maybe even a recast ... what do you think? anything i should know?
ALSO, what's your favorite mini? do you have one/any pictures of one? as i said, i like pretty much all pukifees and i fell in love with the little pigsy delf girl that LUTS sold out of. such a shame she's all gone ;(
cheers!~

I don't have any tinies, but I gotta suggest that you don't buy a recast. Recasts are illegal, and buying them supports illegal behavior. Imagine if you spent hours sculpting and casting, just to have someone copy your work?

Now that I've said that, I want to wish you luck on finding a adorable tiny. If you wanted one at a lower price, perhaps you could get one secondhand?

Recasts are not allowed here, and the forum owner. Greyhaunt, has very strong feelings against them and people who knowingly buy them.

Tinies are in no way cheaper than larger dolls, in fact, they are often more expensive than Yo or MSD size. They don't ship faster. Because they are small and hard to work on some faceup artists charge more. There isn't as much ready-made clothing available for them. The only real advantage to them is their smaller size; they don't take up as much space, and you can use dollhouse furniture and accessories with them.

I actually like the Bobobie/Resinsoul tinies; they are a nice size to work with, and they are very reasonably priced at Junky Spot http://www.junkyspot.com/obindex.html Everything shown at Junky Spot is in stock and will ship immediately.

Well, now that you know the truth about recasts ( ), I agree with VV's suggestion on Bobobbie tinies. They are adorable, come in a variety of skin shades and I believe they fit Kelly size clothing pretty well. And they are inexpensive compared to other brands. That doesn't make them lesser quality, though. Bobobbie tends to string loosely, but I don't think that's a issue with the tinies.

Regarding the Bobobie tinies, they fit the clothes from the American Girl miniature dolls. I also recommend them! They are a nice size, not too small, and they come with a faceup from the factory. And they are even cute without wigs.

The Junky Spot has quite a few bobobies in stock, too. The nice thing about bobobie/resinsoul is the huge amount of different skin colors they have available, especially in comparison to what most other doll companies offer.

There are lots of ebay and etsy dealers with clothing and patterns for the American Girl Mini girls and Etsy artists who make Pukifee sized clothing.

One other doll this size that is lovely is Lati Yellow.
I believe they can only be purchased from the company and there is always a very long wait time, but froiends who have them insist that they are worth the wait.

I have an 11cm Obitsu, Felixdoll Brownie, Orientdoll So, Dollzone promo tiny, and Puki Puki. There's no better or worse with any of them as they were all bought for different reasons they fulfill. A couple of them cost as much as their much bigger friends so if you want inexpensive go with the Obitsu, you can always put another head on it.
