So I did a review of Rarityover here and was a bit disheartened on customizing her. But I decided to give her movie accurate eyes, however since her factory paint stained her vinyl, I had to make them larger than I would have done so, as well as compensate for the unusually low cheeks/nose and mouth. I debated on what to do for her mouth since Rarity doesn’t have lips in the movie (you see her applying lipstick in “This Is Our Big Night” but she’s lipless directly afterwards) so I experimented until her mouth looked okay to me.
I tried to give her movie accurate hair since I’ve done so to all of my brushable ponies, but since she was so poorly and thinly rooted, there was always large bald spots showing, so I decided to put her hair into a retro styled side ponytail with hair strategically placed to cover the bald spots and curled her hair.
And I decided to put her into a La Dee Da outfit because her basic ‘outfit’ looked really cheap and I currently lack a sewing machine to make her outfit.
I’m really proud that I managed to turn a really subpar product into something I’d like to own, but I’m also really wary of buying any other Equestria Girls dolls.
