Ok so I just got what I figure was a pretty good deal on some dolls at the antique show here. I have been really really out of touch with vintage Barbie stuff and these are all pretty damaged, so I wanted to check if anyone here knew anything I don't before I do any restorative or custom work on them. For $15, I got:
1962 black Solo in the Spotlight case with some fading and superficial dirt but no tears or breakage
two Kens, one brunette one black haired, both painted hair, stamped 1960, chipped paint and dirty
red/titan hair bend-knee Skipper, stamp 1963, dirty and has chunk out of knee, but head in very good shape
brunette Skooter, dirty and could probably use a rehair, also 1963 but on the original hard leg body
blonde Skipper, stamp 1963, bendy knee and I think she's Malibu Skipper? missing a foot
two random heads, one looks like a knockoff of original side-eye Barbie, other is stamped 1976 Mattel and has a very cute face but her hair is so dirty its hardened in shape.
The case is going to be a gift, so I'm just cleaning it gently. The dolls though, I was thinking about trying to fix the paint and rehair the ones that need it. I tried to check Ebay, but since all mine are nude and dirty its not very helpful.
Theres also for some reason a random assortment of bendy knee Barbie legs so uh, if anyones looking for that?
