Last week, I finally received my Mattel Hans ‘prototype’ 12″ doll heads, and promptly set about giving them ‘Mattel’ style faceups. I mounted them on Mattel Fashionista jointed male doll bodies and dressed this one in a 2016 Disney Store Hans outfit. It’s different (a bit more simple and made of mostly broadcloth) from the 2013-2014 DS outfits (made of corduroy and faux suede), which is what I was aiming for. Anyway, I am THRILLED to have found these treasures! My Mattel Elsa dolls were always so lonely without her matching Mattel Hans and now they have their mates! Mattel never officially released 12″ Hans dolls (only 4″ ones) but the prototype heads were finally located!!!!!
He’s not as accurate to Hans’ character as the Disney Store dolls are (they are PERFECTION itself!) which is typical of the Mattel line, but he still has a certain charm to him and I am just over the moon about being able to bring him home to my collection! :laughs I managed to get 2 and made one regular with side glancing (shown above) and the other in a custom Coronation suit, with forward eyes.
Now, if only I could find those fake Chinese Hans dolls from 2013! They were HIDEOUS (looked NOTHING like our gorgeous prince!) but I still want him for my Chinese Elsa doll sets! ^.~
