What I Found Bin Diving Today.... :P

Before there was a Generation Girl Chelsie, a tiny tot Chelsie or a My Scene Chelsea Barbie there was a redheaded teen High School Chelsie Barbie who was a friend of Barbie's popular young cousin Jazzy. She was made from an earlier sculpt so she's marked 1979 but actually she's from 1988 and she is a pretty rare girl. These are running $50 in the box when you can find them and I've yet to see one unboxed actually so this doll was quite a find. The pics I've found of her so far don't do her justice. Her smile is big but it's not quite as clown-like as it appears in the page with Jazzy and all her friends.

I think in person she's much prettier than the pics I've seen would indicate. The one I found actually has bangs styled down instead of up rather like a rocker Midge. She's in pretty good shape except for some chews on her ankles but she needs a trip to the bathroom salon before we can take any pics of her. For now take a look at these representative pics.

and here she is briefly in a commercial for Jazzy and pals circa 1988 or so. If you blink you'll miss her but she's there with the other girl going "Ooooh!" at the end.

Lol "Jazzy: Cool Teen Cousin of Barbie!" Anyways, Chelsea looks like a cute girl, and, if she wasn't $50 a pop, I'd think about getting one, because that '80s fashion is FABULOUS.

You aren't missing anything by not having a Jazzy doll, flat feet that can't fit most shoes, bent arms, the body is smaller than Barbie's bust and the hips flatter and wider.

You'd have more fun copying the clothes for a doll you'll enjoy more.

I do want to see the new girl, never got to get any of her friends.

Actually I found shoes for Chelsie in my Liv doll collection. She can wear Liv heels or flats or Barbie flats. She can fit some newer Barbie clothes and Liv and model pants fit her too, so an outfit wasn't hard. I'm actually going to swap her onto a teen Skipper or an older action body I think though. Her regular body isn't that bad but I'm not into permanently bent arms and a shiny body. I've got several of those bodies somewhere. Shouldn't be too hard to fix her up with a decent match. At least she's not orange toned like Palm Beach Midge...

It's good to know about the Liv shoes and newer clothes, I have a workout Jazzy and the rock star one but don't do much with them. It'll be interesting to see her on a Teen Skipper body, I'm looking to move all of my TS girls to something else that can fit their clothes.

Jazzy's body is similar to the Spectra doll's, talk about shiny.
