Barbie restorations

Postby catshem » Mon Jul 30, 2012 12:51 pm

After winning a mass lot of rescued Barbies, my plans are to restore and repaint them alllllLLLLLLLLALALALALA!

Here's Barbie #1:

Her hair was pretty matted and look! nice and sleek again.

What I did to fix the hair:
Liquid soap to wash
Conditioner (detangle spray)
Doll brush
Brush while conditioner is in then rinse and air dry

Later I brushed out again and used a hair dryer to lay the hair flat again, as it was all kinds of poofy.

This is probably going to be the biggest thing I ever do, ever.

Second hand shops, and donation shops can be your best friend (and worst enemy money wise) for used dolls. Though I'm not bidding on anymore lots for awhile. At least not again until I can push every last one of them out of my house.

Now that I know you can restore the old and damaged dolls, I keep harassing my sister about my niece's dolls. I'm like "Don't throw them out! I can't FIX IT!"
