Barbie question about 1960s Francie dolls, help appreciated!

hi all!!

long time no chat ^-^" been super busy with school and work I havent had time to really come on here and chat. but what I have been doing lately is going threw and selling dolls. I came across a few vintage 1960s barbie dolls.

I looked them up online and it says they are called francies. I was looking into selling them but first I would like some infor about each doll and what they are worth. please feel free to message and comment. any help is greatly appreciated

The black doll is the FIRST black Barbie, or rather the first black doll for the line, and is indeed a Francie. I have her, and I bought her new. I always felt she was gorgeous. She is actually quite valuable. The first three after the boy are older Francie's. I think the other two girls are actually later. Last time I looker her up the Black Francie was about $200. That depends on condition, and the values have been declining slightly recently. It also depends on people being willing to buy at that price. Either way - those three in the middle are valuable and lovely.

The Ken is a Malibu Ken. The one on the far right is a Malibu PJ. They go for about $30-50 in that shape. PJ gets more than Ken. Here is your guide to Francie, and yes, she can be quite valuable in great condition, as these look to be. You could get anywhere from $100 to $300 a doll for these I would imagine. Mod dolls in that kind of shape are going for a premium these days. Most of them do not look anywhere near this good.

I think the guy is a Malibu Ken, although he could conceivably be a later "swimsuit" issue Ken. The next three girls should all be Francies. I'm no expert, but the first blonde could be a first-issue Francie. Then there's the "Colored Francie" (I'm sorry, but that's what she was called), and then a second-issue Francie who had a short flip (the one I actually had as a kid). The next blonde is P.J., which used the Midge mold, and the last doll is Malibu P.J., who used the Steffie face mold. Values are subjective and difficult to determine from a single photograph, but I can tell you right now that the black Francie is worth quite a bit. The doll was a commercial failure in 1967 and was only produced for a short time, but now everybody wants her. The fact that your Francie's hair hasn't oxidized (turned red with age) is a huge plus. You could be looking at anywhere from $500 to $1000 for her alone. Good luck!

I'd like to see a close-up of the nude blonde's face. I have the printed Francie price guide somewhere, it's before the recession, but the market seemed healthy.

If she's real and in that great of a shape it might be worth getting some appraisals. Even I would sell dolls if it meant something like car money.
