Got a Mystixx vampire?

Postby DollyKim » Mon Apr 01, 2013 11:53 am

Does anyone have one? I know they aren't the best at joints but how are they otherwise? I'm curious enough to possibly get one. Finally saw the gimmick of two faces on the head.

I just read through those reviews. I love the angles on the vampire face, but I think the two-faced head is a terrible idea. It reminds me too much of Poor Edward http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Mordake (warning, this article is potentially very creepy/disturbing), which just really disturbs me. I wish they had face plates instead, because that would have been so cool on a playline doll.

But that vampire sculpt has such great repaint potential...

I would cut that head right down the middle and put it on a ball of some sort like a mask. Maybe styro base or do something out of polymer or resin? You could make two dolls from the one. I don't like the double head at all? I've seen that with some antique dolls and it always creeped me out then. But the actual sculpt is cool, yes.

Either name her Janus or she has a conjoined twin, there have been people born with 2 faces and modern medicine is stuff that you can have it removed. Just don't watch Basket Case before or after.

I definitely think I'll wait until I see one again in real life before deciding. A face plate would have been cool, I have an action figure that has face plates, it could work with a peg like the wig does.

Hmm... I hadn't heard of those before, and after looking at the reviews that Nella linked, I do not think any of them will be joining my collection.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

GYAH.

Seriously, they lost me at the two-faces point.

Not for me. Never. No.

I bet a clever modder could separate the heads and make them into face-plates. May be something worth experimenting with. But otherwise? They're a little too far out there for me. And the chin sticking out the back under the wigs throws me off something fierce.
