Just Google "motor racetrack MYAREANAME" or "motorsport MYAREANAME" or "motorspeedway MYAREANAME". Every track I know of has a website now, and there are lots and lots of them, from cart-tracks to American LeMans tracks and a lot of hobbyist tracks. There's three within what I would consider reasonable photoshoot distance of my house and I live in the country in Oklahoma.

here is a good place to start http://bestwesternmississippi.com/ms-raceways

You might also google "vintage warplane group MYAREANAME" to see if there's a WWII group based somewhere around you that will be at a private airfield. They'd probably get a kick out of a photoshoot.
All you damn kids get offa my lawn!

@Zirc: Yep, there's a private/civil aviation field a few miles from my house and I'm actually in the northern approach path. Interestingly, with a regional hospital right down the street from me (air ambulance service), a busy Joint Forces/ state ANG base just south of me (Medivac to the same hospital as well as fixed wing transports and helicopter traffic) and a private/civil air field just to the southeast, near the ANG base, I'm in a pretty busy air traffic corridor for someone who doesn't live near a major airport.

@Misty: Thanks for those links! I found dirt oval track near me. That seems to be the dominant motor sport out here in the sticks. Not sure where they drag race but maybe it's like in Tulsa where the REAL action is on the BA. My then 9 (now 10) year old niece who's a total gear head (but loves dolls too!) explained that whole situation to me earlier this year. That kid knows WAAAAY too much about street racing.

I digress....
Anyway, it occurs to that me that the best airfield would be the local regional airport, sadly enough. They only have like three commercial flights a day, so there's A LOT of down time there. Alternately, I could re-scout some of the old industrial areas downtown that I had originally explored for a post-apoc story idea I had a few years ago. Plenty of bare concrete slabs from old warehouses and lots of unobstructed angles to shoot from.

I appreciate all the help and suggestions because it really helped me get the gears turning. Thanks everybody!
