Yup, unfortunately it seems they are no more. The rooted fancy dance party dolls seem to be the last of them being produced. Sucks, I really liked these and I've definitely bought up my share. I have multiples on Tris and Mel actually, but apparently they didn't do so well. My local stores barely carried them at all even TRU. Our Walmart got them but only a couple of boxes per release which meant once they were gone. They were gone.

In fact out of the 6 dance dolls that they actually got I ended up with 3. I bought one when I first saw them to give to my niece, not to keep, intending to go grab more for myself later, but then they just vanished off the shelf and I never saw any again, not even through Christmas. Somehow 3 then ended up on the clearance shelf and I bought two. Our local Targets gave up after the first set apparently.

Never got wave 2 or the dance dolls so far as I know though they did have a couple more of the wave 1 dolls at one point. Even then they never had but Tristen, Melrose, Gavin and Leigh. I had to order away to finally get a Bijou and I will have to order an Arizona (and pay through the nose) to get one of those to complete my set too.

I don't know what Arizona it was, she came with black shoes, gold jewelry and a light pink shirt with a denim jacket. I think her leggings were pink too?

In my opinion, unless you're grabbing the harder to get dolls, and want to make a profit or better trade, I would just debox. It's more worth to you if you get to actually handle and enjoy the doll you bought with your money. Especially if you really like them.

For example I have Nefera de Nile, whose looking to be kinda a pain to get at decent prices, but I wanted her for myself, so deboxed!

That's Arizona #1, first wave. There are only 2 Arizona dolls all total unlike the rest which had 3. She was replaced by Leigh and Gavin for the dance set. She's a bit darker than #2 was, warmer in skin tone and very pretty I think. Her wig is usually a disaster though and I can't say I'm crazy about her outfit though I don't particularly like the one on #2 either. The eye makeup on Arizona #2 is a bit frosted and she looks a bit like she belongs with the dance crew to me. I don't know why they had her character go away for that. I really would have liked to have seen her with them all. But I guess they felt that was too many with the addition of Gavin.

I already unboxed my 2nd Leigh. I just couldn't let her go in the end. I really liked the idea having twins of her. She's such a gorgeous doll. My first Leigh is Leia around here. The second is Lyra and she looks quite different now from her twin. I cut her hair shorter and gave her different green eyes, put freckles on her cheeks et all. Leia has more makeup than she started out with as Leigh. I kind of had to do her eye paint over. She had a messed up liner and shadow thing going on which I fixed when I got her. She also has freckles but only a tiny bit on her nose and I left the very long locks alone on her.

I don't know. I want #2 Arizona but it's looking like #1 Arizona is going to happen instead. She's more often on sale than #2 is and I'm just not into paying that much more to get her #2 incarnation. I can do her makeup to suit me and wig her better I suppose. I think the skin tone on #1 is nicer so maybe it's for the best and I'll just order #1 while I can get her for $15 at TRU online. They still have the one wig I like too and I'm debating on getting one more of that. I really like it on just about every doll I've put it on and I wouldn't mind having two of it. It's a cute style and unlike most MT wigs it seems to be made fairly well. The wig on #2 is cute too though and I do rather like her silver leggings if not the whole outfit so....

Decisions, decisions...laugh....

I don't actually change them out. I just repaint them to whatever color I like. I don't really see the point of opening a doll's head up when I can just give them different colored eyes with a Sharpie highlighter or two or some glass paint carefully applied. I did that with the first Liv dolls I got but it really just bugged me the open holes in their heads even though I put felt over the holes and wigged them. Doing it with Sharpies or glass paint is so much easier and the end result can be really nice. The highlighters are basically transparent and can be mixed. So is glass paint and so long as you seal them with some clear hard coat after they won't smear.

Glass paint you say? Would that kind of stuff work on a transparent body?

Probably yes, but I'd definitely do the individual bottles of the good stuff for that and not the cheap deco craft paint. Glass paint looks like cellophane pretty much when it's dry. But the deco stuff is a bit more opaque I think than the nicer bottles with the white tops. They usually run about $5 a pop. They're a bit more expensive but they're nicer I think. Just remember you will need a clear coat when you are done too.

Also what do you do when you want a color that is different from the original color like lets say pink eyes on a blue eyes doll?

For pink eyes I'd probably use a hot pink Sharpie highlighter as I don't think the glass paint comes in that shade. Should cover a blue or purple iris just fine though it might take more than one coat. I've gone from blue and purple to green in several shades now, from blue to aqua and all the way from purple to brown. I don't know that it would work well on a doll with dark brown eyes to begin with to try to go pink, might be too dark a shade to start with, but anything in a lighter shade should swap out just fine.

MT eyes aren't all that dark to begin with. Even Bijou has some lightness in her brown so you should be able to add some variance to her color if that's a goal. I actually thought about adding some slight green to her eyes in the middle but in the end I decided to leave her alone. She has a tiny bit of a hazel highlight thing going on already and I've got several dolls with full on green eyes so I figured it would be kind of redundant.

What color pink you'd end up with would depend upon what you started with. The colors do blend but the highlighters are totally transparent albeit colored so you can just build up the pink to a nice depth if you want. On a Leigh the eyes go more of an apple green for instance while on a Melrose I got more of an aqua green which I then accented with an aqua highlighter as well. Tris ended up a really pure jewel green. It really just depends upon what color you had to start with and how much pen you use as to what color you end up with. One thin coat you can usually see some of the original color. Two or more it can totally change the eye color completely. It's not hard you just have to be really careful not to get the whites or the pupil involved.
