Awesome!!! Thanks. I'll have to hit TRU for these when they come out. I won't be able to find them anywhere else here, but awesome. About time my darker AA girls got some decent articulation. Of course with my luck I'll like them so much I won't be able to stand to body swap them and I'll end up buying several of the same doll just so I can have the original and several to swap, laugh.

And if I remember correctly the SIS dolls have different AA skintones so they won't all be alike. I think one of them matched the dark Fashionista but the other 2 are darker.

I surely hope so. I have a couple of really great Nichelles, a couple of Christies, and a couple of Nikkis that are all very dark and that need articulated bodies. Also I have the one Basics girl that has the Artsy sculpt and the long lighter hair that's dark. I would love to get her off that muse body and onto an articulated body someday soon. I'm looking at pics of these upcoming SIS dolls though and it doesn't look like all of them are articulated to me, only the sports one that probably will cost $20. At the rate Mattel is making darker articulated bodied I'm going to end up spray painting Liv bodies to get these girls moving, you watch...

Yeah it is only the sports ones that will be articulated. They are that much because they come with an extra doll that you probably could sell off. At least they are cheaper than $40.

We don't have SiS dolls around here, they were only in TRU for a very short time. Dark skinned dolls don't really sell very well around here, after all the times that I've been to the thrift stores I've only ever seen one 'black' doll. That's why I ended up getting a Madison off of ebay, that and I knew if I did ever find her used, her hair would be matted. It was even sort of matted coming out of the box. xD

I've hardly ever seen a SIS doll on the shelf here though I am told that my local TRU gets them in from time to time. I do find AA dolls out at the flea market or in the discount stores once in a while but hardly ever on the shelves at Target or Walmart. When you do see them there it's usually a lighter skinned Fashionista or a Bratz, not a SIS doll. Most of my AA girls are older dolls though I do have a Basics model, an Artsy and a FF Nikki I'm fond of.

There's always ranting online about how Mattel never does much in the way of AA dolls but honestly that's not been true. They've been making them but the stores don't want to carry them because they just don't sell as well. We had the first line they did of SIS dolls at the local Walmart and Target. Six months later they were all on clearance and they never sold even then. They sent them back to Mattel I'm told. That was the last set sold at Target or Walmart here.

I've literally sat there in Target watching as little AA girls deliberately ignored their mother's attempts at steering them towards dolls that look like them to pick up the stereo typical blond Barbie instead. It's a sad fact that even when the dolls are on the shelves kids for some reason almost totally ignore them. Racist it might seem but I get why my local stores don't bother. Who wants to stock that many AA dolls if they're only going to sell one once in blue moon?

I like what I've seen of the SIS line actually, particularly the Roca dolls. But actually see them in a store here to buy? Good luck with that. My local Walmart and Target these days they're rarely even stocking Bratz that don't look like Paris Hilton clones. I think I've seen one AA Bratz in the past year and that was it. It's all Chloe, Chloe, Chloe around here...

The thing I think is at least for little girls, they care more about the clothes than the doll in them. When Mattel goes and puts the blond in a pretty pink dress, but puts the AA doll in either a teal or orange dress, most little girls are going to go for the one in the pink dress regardless of skin color. Us adult collectors might appreciate less pink but sadly I think for little girls the more pink the better.

Tho someone must be snatching up the Jades and Yasmins (and possibly Meygans and Katias depending on the line) since Cloe comes with all the others except for Sasha.

They really look nice. I don't like Moxie Teenz bodies that much, though.
