Well, arriving on the 12th means arriving today http://dolfielittles.typepad.com/blog/2 ... a-box.html

I haven't figured out exactly how the faces and body decor go on, pressure or water or magic, but I already have the desire to use one to redo the skeleton face. I'll let everyone know if I experiment.

I just can't offer anything to trade until the car gets fixed because the post office is inconvenient to get to otherwise but I still want a ghost and puma.

DollyKim: thank you for all of the pictures and review.

I did not know that they were coming out with a unicorn head in the lab pack. I really like the little jacket in the Clawdeen clothes pack. If you decide to sell it, let me know. 8-)

I do not know if i am crazy about the lab pack heads being not so detailed in the sculpting. I am wondering how the customizers will handle that. That is one of my favorite parts about the regular dolls: that all of the heads are different and all are very detailed.

It's a crown so any Monster can wear it. The lack of details has to be to make the lab gimmick work, you stick the doll parts on a slab with wells for the parts and the gizmo applies the decorations. Any sculpted detail on the head might not make things line up at the little sheets have different symbols on them and perforations in the papers for alignment.

All the body parts are the same shape as other CAM parts so it does seem possible to put those in the lab to get decorated.

I found this video hard to hear, but it shows Mattel using the Lab pack.

I'm starting to think the skins go on with water like a temporary tattoo. Remove protective sheet, put in place, hold wet cloth or sponge down for 30 seconds.

On my end I have a Clawdeen who needs a face but she needs to be rooted first. Another reason there's no details on the Lab heads is some sculpted eyes are bigger than the decoration, which you could cut apart and mix features if doing by hand. I can see waiting for the lab though as it putting decals on a curved surface takes some skill.

I much more in the water applied temporary tattoo boat. Take the clear sheet off, put the tattoo printed side down, apply a wet cloth or sponge and a bit of pressure, hold still and give it a minute. Not hard but not for the impatient.

I cleaned the rest of the face off of Clawdeen, her sculpt is much more decoration friendly, once she's rooted I'll pick a face to try on her.

*How to use the skin without the lab viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5964 Collective face palm anyone?

But seriously, it will work on any doll including customs. They really hit on a good idea so let's go bother Mattel to release skins only packs.
