It helps to see Spectra's dress, makes me thing Operetta's is going to be similar so I'm not wanting it so much. Not being able to hop in the car and go Monster hunting is a great way to break that habit :/

And it's only going to get worse. The stuff that got leaked, the stuff they announced at the SDCC. So much cool stuff, so much money :( The completist collectors with larger budgets are going to go crazy trying to round up all the stuff and the smaller budgeted with have to be very choosey about what they go with. I'm waiting to see the dance class Robecca in hopes that I will like HER at $16ish instead of the regular release at more like $30. Then there's that delightful pink haired Howleen. I hope photos start rolling out soon!

I also counted what I have already spent on just the monsters.. The ones out of the boxes are already way over $200... Then the others... haha I could have bought a nice bjd.

(and I don't buy from scalpers)

You have to decide what you really want. Not allowing myself more than 'one of each' helps when I don't count the reroots and even then I've passed on a couple of characters. Even now I feel like I'm drowning a bit in them and that they're out numbering the Littles.

Just because you don't have Monster everything you aren't less of a human being and if that's what it takes to join the club they can have it.

Trying to limit myself to a representative of each character. There are exceptions- somehow I ended up with four Frankies (original, SDCC, Dead Tired, Skull Shores)! Not sure multiple Clawdeens mugged for their heads (Persis and Zora) count.
I don't see sticking to this very well, though- too many cute versions either out now or in the near future.

But my problem is, I really want them all. Or at least most of them. I only have more than one of Lagoona and Frankie. But Frankie is okay, because one is b/w. They are just so wonderful and unique, mattel has me in their monstrous claws and I'm not going any where. ;)

I also find it really really hard to do a reroot on a brand new doll. I'm saving the reroots for in five years when I find these guys at the thrift stores haha

I have to limit because of space, the dolls and I have to share a room and they wouldn't mind kicking me out, and I don't want to turn in to one of those can't get rid of anything hoarder people. So I suppose some of it is therapy.

And once I discovered the reroots could not only pay for themselves but turn a profit things started looking up :)

I'm a minimalist with an almost pathological abhorrence for clutter, and now somehow I find myself in one of the worst-offending hobbies. :P My wife's rapidly expanding dollieh collection was already a source of consternation for me, and now I have my own to contend with!

Finding room for all these dolliehs, and especially doing so with some regard for order and neatness, is an ongoing challenge.

I, too, have imposed strict limits on my MH acquisitions -- only dolls whose designs I *really* like -- to keep the clutter minimal.
