I got inspired looking at pics of the CAM Sea Monster yesterday, so I decided to try making a wig for her. I love the way it came out! It's made with cheap gradient Walmart yarn (I think it had a heart on it? I've had this color for years), a plastic baggie, and hot glue, but I'd say for my first attempt, it was a success! It's so soft!

love that yarn wig, omg.

just for a heads-up, magnetizing the ears/ tail worked awesomely. i just used hot glue to hold them in place in the head (the skinnier glue sticks will fit through the head if trimmed) and it seems to be holding really well. :)

I put actual holes in the top of my cat's head and those ears still would not stay. I doubt they will sans glue which makes wigging her tough. At the moment I've given her body to Spooka my CAM Ghost Girl. I really like the cat but those ears are enough to drive me mad. Love that wig on the Sea Monster. That's the first time I've actually liked her at all. I'm not crazy about that kit. Maybe if it was on clearance I might but otherwise, probably not...

Aw, I love the seamonster! Her tentacles are cute XD

Does anyone know any good ways to remove marks from MH bodies? Like Frankies stitches or the CAM cat's stripes? Also, does anyone know how hard it would be to remove that plastic cap on the CAM's heads?

I know of that Red Heart color of yarn so it's easy to find. I think they call it jewel tones. I might have to try that now...

I've only removed one tattoo off a Jackson's back. Body marks will come off with nail polish remover with acetone in it. I make tiny cotton balls out of big ones, you might have to wipe 2-3 times and scrape a bit with your finger nail. The body may smudge, keep using clean cotton balls, but shouldn't stain like the face can. If you have smudges rinse well, let it rest, and try the remover again.

yeah, they won't. i tried that with Chepi. she had a mohawk so it worked ok, but a normal wig would be a no-go.
this is how i magnetized the head http://siead.livejournal.com/32990.html
i haven't tried it with an MH wig on with the plastic cap, but it held them on through a blanket at least, lol.

huh. i just read somewhere that 10% benzoyl peroxide (for acne) is supposed to get ink and stuff off of vinyl. i might try that later, and let ya'll know how it goes :)
EDIT: not worth it, didnt make a ton of diffrence, any more than more acetone would.

Magic Eraser and 91% Isopropyl alcohol
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Be careful with that stuff! We used it to remove some odd grey stains off of our Medicom Edward Elric's face... and he started turning highlighter yellow. It took a couple of months, and luckily it only started doing it around the base of his neck, so it wasn't really noticeable. I think we got most of it out and stopped it from spreading (I'd have to check) with some alcohol.
