On the acetone thing, it's nail polish remover with acetone I use, I've used it on several kinds of dolls, I rinse quickly and don't let it sit. All the dolls are doing fine.

I do agree with adult size costumes being out there, I've seen some pictures of cosplayers with good outfits.

Just so long as it's not pure acetone, I wouldn't risk that stuff anywhere near ABS/PS! That stuff acts surprisingly quickly... a friend of mine spilt some, and his ruler was just in the very edge of the puddle... 2/3 of it melted away when he washed off the acetone! It was amusing, but I'd hate to think of that happening to a doll

I tried a bit of the Apptivity game for iPad, you can play the first round with your fingers, not bad. I did Lagoona's maze looking for lost things, will like it more when I can mute it. I've gone as far as putting the figures on my wish list.

Around Halloween they had licenced makeup kits wigs and costumes in adult sizes, but cosplay is a great option Ll though more expensive cosplay stuff is a lot nicer and they offfer a lot more variety. Some characters like Lagoona have recognisable features like wings, fins and tails the licenced costume line doesn't yet offer, whilst grey wings, fish/mermaid fins and all kinds of tails are easy to get in the cosplay world. There's tons of cool little things out there like gholias blood drip jewellery, Frankie style stitches, hair clips, earrings and more

I just got around to wiping my Lagoona's face off for my first MH repaint and I used pure acetone. I keep a constant supply so I've used it on Barbies in the past, and all the time on my resin folks. You just don't want to let it sit and you need to work quickly. Wipe with a damp towel/paper towel in between swipes (I use q-tips, cotton balls, or tissue) and rinse regularly and it should be fine. Also, diluting it in a little bit of water will thin it out and make it safer. Experimenting and practicing with it will give you a good knack for knowing when too much is too much et al. ^_~

Now I just need to wait for the weather to dry a bit so I can try re-spraying her with the sealant. My can's veritably out and she didn't get enough the first time, unfortunately. >_<; Oh~ how my patience is being tried this week~

My mom bought me Jinafire for my birthday! I couldn't believe our Wal-Mart had them in! I squee'd and ran halfway down a main isle to her (I think I embarrassed my husband who was with us). Luckily one was halfway decent, though she's still got some eye paint errors, they're at least nice and centered.
Her torso is scaled really nicely. Here are some pics for anyone who hasn't seen her yet.

I hadn't done anything with my Monsters since Halloween, but Jin has pulled me back into them. My CAM Sea Monster may finally get an outfit done now! :D I'm still trying to figure out her character, but I think she likes Nautica, which is what I've been calling her.

Acetone works great on the faces, it's the bodies that shouldn't get near any acetone if ou can help it, it melts them

I still have to be patient for mine :/ No assortment break down from the pre order place and no trips to any stores with toys. Might be for the best for me as shopping for them is border lining on obsession. It does make me itchy to get a second dragon to customize but the next batch of CAM starter torsos has the same mold and that would be a more economical way to go.
