Can't find the picture anywhere public so no link to it specifically but here are various in progress shots:

Edit: Sorry found them!

I was looking at getting him, he's lovely but he's 200$ plus shipping and has the same head sculpt as the $50 11th doll, and it would be better to get him and rebody him. I doubt they'll make 8 as he is the least popular doctor and at the moment they have only made 11 and amy. A tenth or a fourth may be made later if these are successful as they are the most popular doctors, but due to 8 being the least popular of all 11 doctors it's incredibly unlikely he will ever be made. A minimee bjd of him might be an option,

I find the Big Chief 11 worth every penny. My shipping from BBTS was $10.

Eight can be made with either Roger the Royal Marine by Dragon although I use a Barack Sergeant head which has a more mature McGann look. I have made all 4 McGanns if you want further info.

This sales thread has a bald Roger viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6739 He's the one on the right in the picture http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm84 ... ee2d5c.jpg All you would need to do is add hair.

You can still find Character Option 10s out there. I did. I also have this 10 head which paints up nice http://www.wantedactionfigure.com/produ ... asp?id=146 The same sculptor did 2 http://www.wantedactionfigure.com/produ ... asp?id=113 and 4 which I have http://www.wantedactionfigure.com/productShow.asp?id=57

The rest of my Doctors come from my doll family.

has the same head sculpt as the $50 11th doll,

Wait, what? No, the cheaper 11 is only 10" tall.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50ESCDeHzYE
And that's $50? Yikes. I'm still a little apprehensive about having spent $200 for the BC version, but the quality is unmistakeable. This one might make a good source of accessories/bait figure for something else, but I'd pay probably $20-$25 for him. I totally understand any concern about the cost- DH and I agreed that we'll consider Eleven my Christmas present this year. Don't see many of these, ever, joining my collection. Even though they're wonderful. :D

As far as Eight is concerned, it's a lot more likely that Warriors' Gate will produce a kit than that BC will produce a fully finished figure. Or, as Kim has shown, there are some good base headsculpts if you like sculpting and painting. That outfit is going to be the biggest problem- not many sources of period men's clothing in 1:6 unless you're doing something military.

I wonder if the 10" head is the same scale as the 12" one? I've seen some busts and sculpts of 8 and they've always seemed a bit off with his mouth. It's almost easier to do some surgery on another figure. Doing up Roger with hair and a paint job isn't the hardest thing in the universe.

For the clothes just pick up a few remnants and have the right pattern http://www.lulu.com/shop/kim-reed/dolfi ... 95581.html I purposely did the outfits for the book off color but I'm still on the look for the right dark green velvet for the coat. I've seen several blogs on people making full size versions so the fabrics are out there.

When I get around to it I'm going to make "real" Doctor costumes for my guys. I can see using printable fabric for things like 8's waistcoat and 6's coat.

The 50$ one isaw at the Abc shop who Only carry official merch was 12 inches. Yeah it's expensive considering the lack of acessories and awful body.

Yes, I should have qualified my statement: "for those of us with extremely minimal sewing skills..." Those of you who can sew certainly have the patterns available to create their own. I'm kind of curious about the printable fabric- has anyone here used it for 1:6 clothing before? It looks stiff.

I've made stuff before using my printer and plain white thin cotton fabric so that's an option for thinner clothing that's more flexible. You tape an a4 sized price of fabric to a piece of paper when printing to stop it jamming so easily.

Sewing gets better with practice and doll clothes have been a great way to start for over 100 years. If dolls really cared what they wore half my Doctors would be nekked. Pick up a $1 pattern on sale at the store and just try.

To talk about my Doctor book in particular there are just a handful of basic forms with slight altering in length or adding gores to create different looks. 4, 6, and 8 have the same coat. What makes up the price is that I did it for more than the boys on the cover, there are patterns for the Obitsu Slim, Volks N and C, and 23-21cm midis in there. The most complicated piece is 6's coat which I lay out in an exploded view with the color scheme.

BC released 10 a little while back - anyone planning on ordering him? (The usual furore of "OMG only 1000! Not FAIR! My order wasn't in on time!" from people not used to buying collectible 1/6 scale figures ensued...)

Also prototype piccies of 4 and Amy Pond are floating about...
Crazy Mulitverse Crew: Drax, Jareth, Jerome, Elrana Milenkova, The Thin White Duke, Vasily Lupandin, Ramin Aiphos, Theta Sigma, Aiko Koyame, Lord Havelock Vetinari, Dr Nicholas Rush, Anon., Nyta Kinall, Otto Kreiner, That Demon, Sasu, Yaya, Ombre
...reshelling Szesil Markowski and Garan Idasson
