Disney Store Merida uses that jointed body. The legs are kinda sucky but better than click joints in my opinion.

Also, I wonder why Disney constantly changes the dresses. The dresses keep the original idea of the movie, but I can't tell if the fabric is getting cheaper, or they just aren't making things as poofy ball gown-like for ease of mass producing. Also the glitter, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? But I guess a quick wash (or 5) and all that glitter will come off.

I did an order of a bunch of Disney dolls from the store, for $8 each. I also got free shipping for spending over $75. Let me write some of my opinions about them.

I did not order any princesses, here is why. They, like their men are 12" tall. I hate it when the girls are the same height, or taller with heels, than their princes. They may have bendable arms, but be careful with the legs. I can tell you, I ordered Aladdin (he's the only one I have opened) and his legs are not jointed. They bend a little, but not what I had hoped for.

What I did think was cool was the rarer characters I ordered: King Triton, Ursula, the 3 fairies from Sleeping Beauty, and a bunch of princes.

All the princes have molded hair, except Mulan's one. I ordered him, and he has real hair! I don't know about the legs being jointed though, I haven't opened him.

With the princesses I am likely going to use various heads and put them on LIV or Barbie Fashionista bodies. They're a little shorter than their guys that way.

The princes have click knees that bend slightly and hinged elbows and a decent amount of movement. For head swapping things are going to be funky because they have split necks designed to couple with something the same size, their necks are very thick as well. It might take some surgery to change them once you get a skin tone match. The Liv boy is too dark.

As for the girls they're a lighter shade of Barbie and most Fashionistas are closer to a medium. Pivotal and collector lines are closer to the pale. To my knowledge there is no match for Pocahontas but Tiana is a "medium" AA.

I have click knee elbow and wrist girls and they're fine, decent straddle on the hips so they can ride horses, and high heel feet.

I didn't order any of those princesses, the ones I plan to use, for Jasmine at least is the sparkle princess one, and I have a matching LIV body, just need to perform the doll surgery... and I need to practice on some test ones first, hehe.

The clothes on the playline DS Princess dolls suck now. I think they are doing it to encourage people to buy the expensive Limited Edition doll. It is almost like they are saying "You want a doll that doesn't suck? Fork over the money for our Limited Edition doll". The Designer dolls they had last year saddened me because it reminded my how awesome the playline dolls used to be. Here are some examples.

Princess to Liv should go easier, it's the boys who are tricky.

And yeah, the clothes suck rocks. I can't see an impatient child dealing with fraying fabric and unfinished hems.

I dunno about about anyone else, but I wish they'd do some dolls for their non-princess gals. I'd kill for a nice Esmeralda. That and more villains. Where the butt is Maleficent?!

Esmerelda was put out but on a regular Barbie body, I have Meg from Hercules and her body sucks. If it were me I'd look for a Theresa Barbie with a nice bod and make one. The outfits aren't that hard to copy or you could pick them up on Ebay.

She is the priciest though, going by eBay anyway, I actually have that same model, but I lucked out and got her NIB at a yard sale for like $4. But they also have a Phoebus and Quasimodo doll, which are a lot cheaper.

There is an entire set of Disney villain dolls... but they're hard to find, and not cheap. Here is a link to a Malificent.

Again, they're not cheap, but check craigslist, I actually got a "Wicked Queen" for $5 there! Another option, for some villains, they did recently come out with cheaper dolls, like Ursula, there is a "Disney Villain" series one that goes for like $50 plus on eBay, but they also have this one:

I got one from the. disney store, on sale for $8. I don't know if they s0old out though, but, the disney store is a good place to check.

On this note, if anyone ever comes across a Jafar for a decent price... please tell me! Been hunting for it! =)
