Sulu up there looks great, he might be what you're looking for or at least the head. Looks like a 1999 Ken body which is a smidge taller than the usual non jointed ones.

My RAH is one of the earliest ones and the post of a screw sticks out from his body and the arms stick on that. There's nothing to hold the arms on to the body so they come off cleanly at certain angles. To get the head off if yours has screws in the back of the neck undo them, it's a dumb bell shaped piece holding the head on but it's easiest to keep that with the head. Any replacement will just need a dumb bell of it's own. Stick it in place and screw the neck back together.

I'm going to have to agree with Dollykim on this one for sure. :) I think Sulu looks amazing, and I can see him being an easy modification into a really nice Kato. And the body isn't bad either!! I know Sulu is looking like he suddenly took up pumping iron, but to be fair, especially considering Bruce Lee once played Kato, the muscles are at least stocky and well formed and conform more to the usual way Asian men carry extra muscle. (That's not meant as any sort of "stereotype" statement, I hate making generalizations, please everyone know I don't think all Asian men are the same. That would just be ridiculous, I'm just commenting on the statistical height and body shape of most of the Asian actors with a lot of extra muscle like Bruce Lee that I've seen out there.) I think Sulu just might be an awesome Kato. ;) What are your ideas GiE?

Also, Dollykim, I checked my RAH body and his head and neck are seamless, no screws to be found, in fact they're all covered by "skin plugs" and there is no "skin plug" anywhere to speak of on the neck or head that says it might be hiding a screw. Somehow I think the head is being held in with something inside the actual body cavity. It's ridiculous because I have no idea why anyone would use this thing whole besides as some sort of glorified artist's model.

Can you start a thread with pictures of your RAH, he sounds different than mine. The only other Medicom body I have is the Phantom but I'm not taking his suit off.

*Look up Henry Kano figures at MonkeyDepot or War-Toys and see if he'll work. Both stores have reasonable prices for nudes.

Henry Kano might be too real looking.

Here's review of him with history of the 442nd.

Sulu has a very yellowish skin tone. Also you can't remove his boots. I had one and made him a centaur. Lol

Arghhhh, it seems every time the board comes up with a decent solution for Kato, something sets it back!! I swear. Although since Gift_in_Edge owns the "Disney Store" versions of Lone Ranger and Tanto perhaps maybe she wouldn't be adverse to doing more "fashion doll" esque versions of them? (That way a 13'' Fashion Royalty Homme could be used for the tall Britt Reid and any number of bodies could be used for the shorter Kato and they would both use different Ken headsculpts? You also have the option of molding their hair or rooting it...I don't know, I'm running out of ideas and since there IS the Asian ken headsculpt that could very easily be wiped and turned into a Kato...?)

Also, Dollykim, my camera is recharging at the moment, but I did manage to find a few product pictures that show off my particular type of Medicom, the "Naked2", tell me if this helps in the meantime. I'll get you a back shot ASAP. :)

I bought a Shang head by Disney. He has a Asian face and you can get him pretty cheap. He is made by Mattel for Disney.

I think I'm going to give Sulu a try first. There's some fairly good prices for him.

Maywong Are Shang's eyes just painted on or is it...um...a texture?

The present batch of Disney princes are pretty sizable too. I think Sulu will be a good start.
