Goodwill Doll Restoration

I think i'm just going to drop one big thread for the Goodwill dolls I won in auction and my slow going process of getting to each one and fixing them up.

*EDITED PHOTO*
But yeah, A rerooted Disney Pocahontas head. Face was wiped because she was bought during my "MUST REPAINT ALL DOLLS" phase and then...I just...didn't... >_> Body had to be trashed due to some damage that I couldn't really fix. Her hair is an uncoiled cord that has this awesome curly hair texture and I immediately wanted to reroot someone with it. Just finished and I'm waiting for the glue to dry in her head to keep the hair in place.

Now that that's done I'm debating on leaving it and selling the head as is for someone else's project, or to to repaint it and maybe give her a new body.

That re-rooting job is amazing! Was it hard to word with the very curly hair? I've never attempted re-rooting - I'm still trying to attempt a very basic face-up - so I'm quite curious about the process. I think it would be nice to see what personality would come out with a paint job; the hair already makes it look very different from her origin doll, and, IDK, but it seems like it's got a bit of a smile on it.

I managed to get her done in one evening, so it wasn't HARD but it's also not a very simple task to begin with. I think. If you've never rerooted before it's something that seems daunting, but can become mindless work in front of a video playing once you get the hang of it. In the beginning I used to fuss over any strand of missed hair. Now, I'm like "If you didn't make it in the first time then you ain't going in at all!" There's a bunch of rerooting tutorial's floating around here somewhere I'd recommend looking at.

There is a bit of a smile in her sculpt that got lost in the whiteness (I swear I will update the quality of that photo). She's probably gonna float around for a bit before I decide what to do. When I found the cord unraveling my first thought was "drop what you're doing and root a doll with an AFRO. NOW." After that I'm just clueless.

Catshem, please, PLEASE faceup this doll! Aggghhhhhh I'm in love with her already and she's just a rerooted head what the hell is this forum DOING to me!? I just see so many possibilities in this, but for some reason I picture her as like a spicy Latina gal or something. I totally agree with Werepuppy, it seems as if she's got this big sassy grin on her face and just...<3333.

So I finished her WAY sooner than I thought I would:

Head band to keep the hair off her face while the gloss dries. I am REALLY happy with this face. This is one of my best faces, IMO. I would LOVE to give her a body, I even tried her on a Fashionista Teresa but the skin tones didn't match up. I really think Fashionista Nikki would be a great match for her, but I hesitate to get one because that'll give me yet ANOTHER floating head and I hate that so very much.

When she's completely dry I will most likely be putting her up on Etsy for another doll lover to give her a good body and home.

I love her eyebrows! Great faceup! <3
Lolz, I actually have a tan body I hybridized available in my sales thread that would probably match her head. It's basically a Fashionista body without the torso joint. :B
