Mah Barbies.

Right after a bodyswap, reroot/hair restyle and being redressed in... fashionably questionable clothing. :winky:

Image

Here is the Barbie basic #12 with the Tango headsculpt. She's unconventionally pretty which is why I heart her... If she came with black hair and brown eyes she would be a great Rachel Berry from Glee...

Image

Ooh dramatic.

Image

She's upon the Flashdance barbie body. I was intending this head for my fashionista but seems this dollieh wanted the more petite body....

Image

Image
I love the goddess sculpt a lot. I hope the next lot of barbie basics has this sculpt in a lighter tone with red hair...

Image
So yeah, she's an Obitsu pale with Volks arms. Why? Mostly because I had no other doll bodies in this colour and I found by putting the EB doll arms on an Obitsu, it widened the shoulder width just enough that now my doll head just looked like a petite woman instead of a giant headed lollipop.

Image
So yeah this is my yardsale find. She has a really gorgeous face sculpt and paintwise but suffers from 'collector barbie' hair... Frizzy, knotted, shot, horrid stuff. So she has Chun-Li buns.

Image
Asides from Liv's crazy hands, I actually love Perry in this combo... Not as good as Obitsu, but hey, meaty enough that her head doesn't look like a lollipop.

Image
Okie, I was insanely peeved Mattel gave such a great doll such a crappy fringe. I mean crappy without gel. So I chopped off her fringe and found out that the fashionista Artsy had matching hair. Weird, right?

Image
Perry looking distinctly unsatisfied.. I think the fringe hid some of her diva tendencies...

hairbuns! <3.
Goddess could have pass for a Chun Li custom if I hadn't got my Obitsu (its the hair buns talking)

They look so different from the Barbie I dumped back when I was a kid (mid-late 80s)

Those are some gorgeous ladies.

Who's the green guy again?

Nice work John! All three are very cute girls.

No doubt that Mattel can turn out some nice head sculpts and face ups when they want to. I just wish they would get back to somewhat more realistic head sizes.

I love Rachel Berry\Tango. The chin length bob works better than the hair she comes with. It's crossed my mind several times just to give mine a haircut. I think I may go for it now.

The Chun-Li buns are darling and the Goddess mold is my second favorite with Lea being my first. I giggle because some people (me!) sometimes have a hard time telling them apart. :D

I can see why you like the goddess sculpt so much. There is something special about it. Maybe, it is the symmetry.

Iwa Hoshi, haha, I decided to go with this hairstyle since I'm kinda envious of it being on your Chun Lis :)

Emby Quin, thankies. The green guy is a Mattel Wizard of Oz Winkie Guard with a flying monkey. I just carefully ripped off his glued head dress thingy and wiped the bags under his eyes.

Mlatch, yush, Mattel has the ability to churn out really well done sculpts but since their playline is basically blonde obsessed I've been semi disappointed.

I honestly don't understand why big heads = better appeal, instead of quality trendy clothing, detailed accessories, more variety in characters in one line, etc etc....

Mary Kathryn, me too. Right after the Steffie she was on my list for a long while. (The Lea or Lara is next, muahahaha) I played around with the hair for a day tying it up and such, but in the end I thought "Screw this, she's getting a bob".

I'm the same as you. But the goddess is just more rounder in face shape and has a wider nose than the lea... (Or I try telling myself)

Dark Angel, thank you :)

Richilia, thankies. I wished I liked the Barbie basic version of this sculpt more but, I still heart the goddess.

-T2P- I like them this way too :)

 You could always braid up the hair of your other gals and get smaller hairbun (kinda like Sailormoon). And after a few months in hairbun mode your doll automatically get drill hair/princess curls (ala Teto Kasane ) and take some time to rebraid
