Anybody here collect Sindy? What do you think of the new Tonner Sindy dolls? (I've got a blog post on everything we know about them so far HERE, for those who haven't heard of them.)

My mum was really into them for years, so I have a huge soft spot for them. Here is my punky Sindy (well, Victoria Jane, the articulated Debenham's version) and her boyfriend Paul, who had his head transplanted onto a Liv Jake body...

Oh, I hadn't heard that Tonner was doing that! It looks like they did a good job with their versions of her. :)
By the way, your picture isn't showing up for me. It just says 'Image'. :(

Yeah, they're a very good likeness to the originals - probably why it's taken so long to get into production. ;)

Hmm, should be working now. It's been ages since I've regularly posted anywhere with BB code!

I love Paul's outfit and your little punky girl's straight eyebrows. :)

Here's my current Sindy collection:

I don't actively track down Sindys as I do with other dolls but hey, they tend to keep popping up in second hand stores for me to buy lol. I've been waiting for actual Tonner pictures of the new dolls since around 2012 but have been really wondering about the delays because I'm genuinely excited to see a new take on such a classic look. I myself probably won't get one but Sindy definitely needs a big hurrah for her 50 years of existence lol.

So cute! Your Paul looks very dapper there too. :)

I think I might get the blonde doll, as they're my particular weakness. My mum will be ordering some anyway, so I don't mind splitting the postage / customs costs. If it was just me buying one doll, I'm not so sure I'd bother...

Thanks! It was a One Direction doll outfit but Paul makes it work. I do hope to get a Patch one day but I'm not actively looking for the Pedigree family lol.

I really love the blonde in the sun dress' look the most though I'm not big on blondes in general. I'm kind of hoping there's gonna be a budget swim suit/underwear line so I can save a bit if I decide to get one lol.

I love your punky Sindy :)

Tonner have done a pretty good job in getting the likeness of the originals - and at least they went for the original Pedigree look and not the Barbiefied(*) version Hasbro did when they briefly had the license.

(* Nothing wrong with Barbies, I just far preferred Sindy as a child (70s and very early 80s), and never really saw the point of trying to make her a Barbie clone)

I have a few Sindys(mostly 90s). I know not many are a fan of the big transformation she went through in the late 80s but I think she's so gorgeous!

Thank you! :) Her eyebrows are wonky but I'm too lazy to redo them.

I don't think there would have been a big enough market for a Hasbro repro - she's not the best loved doll out there, bless her!. My only wish is that they'd done a repro Gayle too, that I would have bought in an instant! :)
