Volks 'Mini' & 'Midi' head comparison? :)

Hello~ Would anyone happen to have any comparison pics of the Volks 'Mini' and 'Midi' heads? I have a 'Mini' and I've seen the pics of the 'Midi' from Volks' old site, but it was hard to tell how the head really looked in real life. Pics of different angles of the heads next to each other (or even just the 'Midi') would be much appreciated. And are they the same size? Thanks. ^^

I can post photos of the blank heads next to each other. They're about the same size----which is a little smaller than the SH-03 heads. (The regular Volks 'A' heads.)

It's so hard to tell which heads will be right for the characters you want to make just by looking at Volks' straight-on, one-angle pics. I know you'll be helping me and a lot of other people make better informed decisions and save a lot of time, money, and strife.^^ Doll head choosing for your characters = serious business. *hugs*

Haha, the heads are really cute.^^ Are their profiles pretty much the same or different? And I was wondering, since you have these heads with you, would you say they have any major noticeable differences to take note of?

I was wondering if I could get your opinion (and other peoples' opinions if they have input ^^), I want to make the Pokémon characters Jessie and James from Team Rocket. Which head would you say suits them best? Which would you use if you were going to make them?

I've got a Midi and the equivalent Obitsu head, I honestly forgot the number, and I don't see any difference between them. Obitsu ruby hair would make a good Jessie color and they have a blue for James.

Thank you very much for the suggestion and info DollyKim.^^ I hadn't really considered the equivalent Obitsu head for them though because of the puffy lips it has. I want them to have the same head type since their faces are practically identical, and I didn't want James to have lips like that. (unless maybe he was cross-dressing again...^^) The hair colors are really pretty, but hair colors or baldness won't matter because I take the hair out so I can make yarn hair. I'm not talented enough to style real doll hair. ^^;

The more I think about it, I think I might go with the Midi, both for the sake of trying a new head, and because it's angular cheeks suit Pokémon's human characters more than the Mini's rounded cheeks. I like how its ears stick out more than the Mini's, too.

Though looking at SetsunaKou's Rin doll's profile pic, I think the Midi's profile is a little odd compared to the Mini's, but James' hair will cover some of it, and Jessie's big earrings might disguise or distract from it it a little. I still can't get over how cute her May doll is. ^^

I didn't notice the lips until you pointed them out. I've had a red haired Obitsu and a blond Midi for nearly 10 years and never bothered to look for differences in their sculpts.

Yes, for me, I'd go with the 'Midi' heads for Jessie and James. I think the Pokémon characters look good with the midi sculpt.
I also like the Parabox C01 23-25cm head for them. I'm making a Nene doll from Digimon for a commission and I think that Parabox head will work good for her and Digimon is close to Pokémon in terms of style. ^^ We made two Pokémon guys (Red and....Silver?) using the Parabox C01 and I think they came out really well. I can send you photos of them if you'd like to see.

The new Parabox 'Petit Pchan' head is good for a lot of current anime style now, with extra large heads and cutesy features. (You know, the ones where ALL the characters look 12 years old, even though they are said to be 18-20 yrs!) I'm not sure if I'd use it for Pokémon characters, since it's a bit 'roundish' but I might since they're kind of 'big headed', too.

If you do use the Midi heads, I'd recommend 25cm bodies because it's a TAD small for the 27cm bodies. (If you see the May doll, you'll notice the head is a little pinheaded. Not bad, but I think she'd have been more accurate looking on a 25cm body.

Oh whoa, I didn't think about the heads being so small! I think you saved me Setsuna. I tried my Mini's head on my 27cm Slim Male, and the size is way too small for James. You're right, Pokémon characters have bigger heads, so I think I might need to get the type of Parabox head you used for Red. (your Red is crazy adorable, by the way! ^^) It's big like the P-chan head, right?

Plus, I don't think there are any 25cm males out there, so I'll have to use the 27cm Obitsus for them. It should be an okay body for them I think since they're taller than the other characters. But I really would like to find an old style 27cm Slim Male for James so he'll be a bit shorter and closer to a 27cm Jessie's height.
