Liv Revamped

I followed eye removal and changing tutorials and successfully swapped out and repositioned Alexia's? eyes. She's the only one without pink lipstick so that's why I picked her. I figure four dolls with the same head mold is just excessive. Anyway, here she is.

I readjusted Chae-ri's eyes almost as soon as I got her. It definitely is an improvement over the "dead doll" stare most of them come with!

Oh, much better with the eyes repositioned. It's amazing what a difference that makes in a doll.

Could you tell me which eye removal and changing tutorial you used to fix up your girl's eyes?

Actually, a simple eye readjust is very simple and requires no removal of the eye from the socket.

1. Remove the doll's wig and clothing.

2. Heat the head to soften the vinyl with either a hair dryer or with very hot (not quite boiling) water. If you use water, soak the head for 10-15 seconds and use a towel to gently squeeze out excess water that might burn you.

3. Pop the head off the body. It should come right off.

4. Stick the eraser end of a pencil up into the head through the neck and gently push on the bottoms of the eyes to move the irises up slightly until the "dead stare" look is gone. Reheat the head as necessary during this process and make sure the eyes are repositioned evenly.

5. Carefully put the head back on the body. Reheating might be necessary but be sure not to push too hard or you might misalign the eyes.

6. Voila!

Thank you so much for this information. I have two Liv dolls and would like to fix their eyes.

I went the extreme route as I was swapping eyes. I cut open the back of the head with my trusty x-acto knife. Then I cut the backs of the eye sockets out. Popped the old eyes out, popped the new ones in and positioned them. Then I glued the backs of the heads back on with white glue. It's holding fine and if I ever want to reopen them all I have to do is wash in warm water. :D

I didn't even realized you changed the eyes to different color. Did you take eyes from another Liv Doll or use different brand of eyes?
