Crochet clone doll vs Barbie

Does anyone have a picture of one of those "cheap" crochet fashion doll clones, Darice or Fibre Craft, next to a Barbie?

It suddenly occurred to me that issues I'm having with some crochet patterns might be because they used a clone who's on the shorter side.

I do not have the dolls, but are you sure your gauge is right on the spot both in width and the height? Did you gauge square that is big enough?
Also, if you use natural fibers, you can wet-block (stretch) the item to shape so it fits, after crocheting is done.

Gage and all that is correct, I've even tried a bigger hook to see if I'm working too tight. I've done fine with other brands and other projects, other people have had hit or miss with this company. It's crochet thread so I'm not sure how much blocking would help. This pattern alternates DC shells and SC rows.

I'm just curious if it's a fit model issue because I'm trying to rule out all the possibilities to why these patterns don't quite work.

I don't own them anymore since I've redonated them but they're definitely more teen skipper skipper sized/25cm sized more than Barbie sized lol.
