Fall doll news

Postby DollyKim » Wed Sep 08, 2010 11:52 am

On 10-10-10 it looks like they'll be releasing 10 Bratz, or so the ones at Target would have you believe. Suddenly saw new ones appear out of nowhere.

Saw the Liv scooter, nice, okay price. Looks like there's a Target exclusive Liv line Moonlight Dance or something like that. Nice two tone wigs.

Their $100 dollhouse kit is even smaller than before, not quite as tall as mine although I suspect it will fit Littles, only half the footprint of mine.

100 Poses Barbies are getting some cute outfits but the second Ken is kind of ugly, good news is you can swap heads on them easy enough.

Really pale Twilight girls have come out but they're Black Label which means few joints.

I saw some of the new bratz and i'm wondering what their body's are like. This year has seen an explosion of "100 poses" dolls which is great for those of us who like articulation though I wonder what brought on the sudden lean towards it.

I picked up some of the new bright liv wigs for my RS Lu and I 'm happy to say that at least the ones bought were thick and full haired (for a while all of the second gen wigs I bought were very thin with exposed wig caps :( ) BUT the pegs that they are using to hold the wigs on liv heads are now made of a very hard material and I had to resort to using my dremel to sand the peg off. Unfortunately the wig hair got caught in it and tore a chunk out

Also I picked up one of the moxie teenz girl wigs and just like the moxie girl dolls, the hair has that awful greasy feeling to it :x Which is a shame becuase i like the styles they come in :(

Ooh, the new Twilight girls are both very pretty. Alice has really cute hair and features (from what I can see), and I love Victoria's expression - and her outfit.

Personally, I find it hilarious that the Jake doll comes sans shirt, especially since I joked that New Moon could be more accurately titled Taylor Lautner Takes His Shirt Off, as that was basically the entire plot. He's kinda cute, I guess, but definitely not making any of my want lists until he comes with half-decent articulation and an actual outfit.

I have the Victoria in hand. She's very pretty and pale. She's on the regular BBBody. And pale. I thought she was gonna be remade into a custom Lady Gaga but I'll be damned if the doll doesn't look more like Anna Paquin than anyone else.

But pale. Really, really pale. At least she's not sparkly?

That's something at least. Do you think she'd match a whiteskin Obitsu, or is she even paler than that?

I'll check the skintones this afternoon when I get home. I'm trying to find the right outfit to redress her in so I can do some photos. My 1/6 Bei has already laid her claws into the top and the jacket. And Victoria, my mnf shushu is insistent that this new doll be renamed before being acknowledged. :p
My husband jokes that the Barbie Horde should all be numbered instead of names. I'm thinking he might be right. XD

Here's Mattel's Vampire Skin against Obistu White. Obitsu WS is a tad warmer, but still a good match, IMO.

See...doesn't she look like Anna Paquin? Just sayin'.

Close enough for me! I think Alice is going to end up being Sally from the Discworld books.
