Maybe this will breath new life into the brand!
As much as I prefer dolls with jointing, I really like that tall girl with the dark hair!

I wonder when they will start hitting the stores?
I like to see them in person before I buy. ( looks over at the only play doll bought online: my cross eyed Merida)

This news is all over my FB and frankly, I'm just not really caring about it at all. I don't have a lot of a Barbies, but the few I have, I like and I really don't care about having a doll with my body type. I'm wondering how they will handle the fashions tho. Will each one have their own line of clothes? That could be fun.

I wish that they would have joints.

Mattel website now, stores I think March.

I wouldn't mind the curvy body Minikim, easy enough to find blond and blue, but not until she has joints. I'm one of the 100 Poses fans who feels a bit spoiled by elbows and wrists.

Others have been wondering this, too. But, is Lammily really doing that well to begin with?
The good side for Lammily owners is that maybe the new Barbie line will make finding clothes a bit easier. Assuming that they might have similar shapes, of course.

If only they had joints, I'd be all over this. As is, I might still be tempted to get one of each just for sewing and comparisons, but... eh. Just not fond of bricks.

I was late in discovering this... it was in a lot of newspapers today. Here's a few more pictures.

I like the new body types... the tall and petite ones are definitely welcomed to vary the height a bit. I'm definitely disappointed that they're not articulated at the elbows and especially the knees. (What can I say? I've been spoiled by the Made to Move dolls.) It'll be interesting to see how clothes fit on the various sizes.

One newspaper article stated: "The new Barbies are available now at shop.mattel.com and will be in stores this spring. The company wanted to release the dolls in time for New York Toy Fair starting Feb. 13." They're listed on the site for $10 apiece with one outfit, or $20 for the doll and three outfits. There's definitely a few there I must have. :D
