Some of my in-progress 1/6 customs! [Update: Feb 2017]

So I've been in the process of making some customs to join the 1/6 inhabitants of the room. Here's how that's going:

Image
"My Queen"
"Get up, yer makin' an arse of yerself again, Mac."
"...C'n you just appreciate the moment, Merida?"

In this picture, we see Merida - rebodied with a Made to Move - being greeted by the Young Lord Macintosh. Aye. Young Lord because it's technically Young Macintosh, but it's based more on his appearance in Once Upon a Time where his Dad had passed and he became Lord himself. At the moment, we're missing his arm gauntlets, boots, and blue woad. Two of these are easy to get but I used a ZC Toys Muscular Body for him and I am having difficulty finding boots that will fit. The great kilt he is wearing is not accurate as trying to do it with one piece of fabric weirdly provided too much bulk. Head sculpt may change - Adam Driver is a good representation of the animated Young Macintosh, so I will need to wait for that to be available. At the moment, he seems alright.

Custom two are ones I've been working on for too long...

"I think Pop's lost it, Scaramouche."
"Gazza, he never had it to begin with."

That's right! Braztillaz Yasmin has had a hair re-style, sort of, to become Scaramouche, and Gloom Beach Jackson Jekyll stands in well as the young soul rebel that is Galileo Figaro. I'm going to make Scaramouche's first act costume for her at some point. This is kind of a start of making musical character customs - I'm looking into making stage!Wonka's costume...

To round us off... I caught a moment. Maybe things aren't quite so bad between Queen and Laird...

You've been busy :D

I'm looking forward to seeing Wonka's outfit.

Dark Angel: Lol, working on the customs has been a good way of helping keep my anxiety and other issues at... Well, I won't say at bay but it's helping to manage it a bit. My doctor recommended the whole being creative thing and the 'rents have been helpful as well. I've got some other custom-y type stuff I want to do (like make Tiana a yellow dress because she suits yellow.) Wonka's outfit is going to take a while because I need to try to find the right type of fabric that hangs well at this scale but has the necessary pattern type >< Surprisingly a lot harder than I would have thought. Thank you for the encouragement though!

Ooh loving the sources of inspiration for these guys - can't wait to see how they'll turn out with the rest of the gang you've got planned. And hee! Scaramouche and Galileo Figaro, absolutely adore your ideas and sources of inspiration! I do hope you continue to put these guys together, both for the fun they give you and to selfishly admire them from afar!

Sorry haven't been properly online for a little while so this is a bit late, though damn your fantastic Lord Macintosh is making me want to do a custom Macleod clan of my own... And you've reignited my interest in doing a Hedwig with your brilliant ideas for the musical based group. (But no, must focus on my Pavi Largo inspired guy first)

Vetinari: Pavi Largo! Funnily enough, Graverobber and Shilo are on my list of possible musical based customs, because I really enjoy Repo. I should re-watch that, actually, it's been a while. So far these customs (all my customs) are somewhat stalled as my sewing machine is playing up. Also I'm awaiting supplies such as fabrics and bodies and the like

On the list of possible musical customs: Willy Wonka, the Artful Dodger, Nancy, Eponine, Gavroche, Enjolras, Graverobber, Shilo, Elphaba, Glinda, Charlie Bucket... There's likely more, but that's all that's coming to mind right now. So genuine request to all: good body source for child 1/6 scale?

REALISE THIS IS A DOUBLE-POST. APOLOGIES. Just had to share the brooding emos with you. Okay, so they're not emos but it just made me laugh lol

Okay, from left to right we have: Ignatius Moors (who is needing his horns, I'm thinking of using model magic), Nikolai Vladimir Dracula, and Galileo Figaro. Yes, he's already appeared in this post but it was when I was putting together Ig that I realised that it's three dark haired boys around. Four if you count Mr. Thomas Sharpe. Good thing the OC I'm looking to shell next is light haired :P

(The musical characters in 1/6 is an on-going project. I'm not looking to rush it all :D)

Okay! Update time:

Image

Hatter finally arrived and Alice is delighted. These are based on the Syfy version of Alice - one of my faves. Hatter is a Fashionista Ryan head on a Sideshow buck, and I will need to make more fitting clothing. For now, though? Hatter's happy to be here, and Alice is happy to have him - they'll be able to do pizza.

Grouped these together because they're roughly the same thing. Girl in stripes is Juliet Haig - call her Jules. She's the oldest friend - and PA - of the guy; Alex Sharpe. Alex is an actor who has been launched into stardom due to his role in the Galaxy Wars movies. He's really more of a punk but the agent doesn't want him dressing that way for interviews and the like. Girl in the blue dress is Lily Sinclair, also an actor, who plays Cinderella opposite Alex's Prince Charming in a new movie version of the classic fairytale. Photoshoots and interviews were happening on the same day, but sadly the place the photoshoots happen is not the warmest. Alex was more than happy to hand over his jacket though.

Thomas has been buying Edith some new gowns. This is her new day dress and she's very fond of it, even though her silly husband didn't need to buy her anything. She knows what he's trying to do, and frankly he doesn't need to do it. Still... it is a lovely dress.

So, this is Mildred Hubble, lead character of The Worst Witch books by Jill Murphy. A Licca head, 21cm obitsu body, and I made the pinafore and shirt myself. The head was oddly rooted - I think it might have been a licca clone - because it was only rooted at the top so if I tried to make pigtails the normal way there would have been a lot of bald head in the back. Instead I made a ponytail, and then braided it twice. I'm fond of Mildred - though she needs proper stompy boots now. Anyone know where to get a pair of Docs that would fit her?

Okay so this one is more showing off the dress. I made this, all from one piece of fabric and a pattern that I just sort of roughly sketched up myself. It is for another custom but since it does look really good on my Elphaba here (yes I know it's really Casta, but she's become Elphie here) I may need to make another one.

And that's what I've done lately.

Nice work! Drafting patterns for dolls is really hard.
