Recently customized a Disney Store King Fergus 1/6 doll to be more accurate in size and attire for a commission.

We lengthened him so he’s taller than Elinor/Merida (he’s about 13″ now), lengthened his kilt, redid his belt and buckle to be pleather and wider, add the pouch, added a new wider chest strap with medallions and replaced the tiny sad non=metallic sleeves with ‘chainmail’ looking fabric in silver/pewter tones. We also made his ‘bear cape’ with claws and chain. Finally, I rooted him to have real hair, enhanced his factory faceup, and extended his beard and moustache with sculpting compound, to be more accurate AND to give him the illusion of a larger head. It’s still smaller than the gals, but it’s more tolerable now at least putting him next to them!

Hope you like him! What do you think? Much more the Lord of Clan Dun Broch now!!!

You must be getting tired of hearing me say "Wow", but how about if my husband says it too?!

How did you make him taller? I love it.

We removed his vinyl legs, which only came up to the thigh, while his upper thighs and torso are made of stuffed fabric (like older style porcelain dolls?). After we took off his legs, we made a new pair of upper thighs that were longer and thicker, about 2" longer.
Then, we reinserted the lower vinyl legs into the new stuffed thighs we made.
After we did that, the kilt was too short, so we had to add a piece of tartan plaid underneath the belt section to make that longer as well to accommodate the longer legs. :)

Thanks for asking!!!!!

He's absolutely wonderful! Somehow even the Disneyfied-tartan sits better the way you've done it. And woah - yeah I see what you mean about the relative headsizes - it always always bugs me when a toy range doesn't even bother attempting to stay in scale with itself, but you've done a brilliant job of hiding it with that beard improvement/fix. (Damn one of these days I'm going to save up the cash to pick your brains about Megamind... One of these days... When Bowie and Tony Stark aren't eating all of my doll funds)

Fergus looks amazing, and now I'm really tempted to see how you'd managed the other two suitors...
